Movie made up of six vignettes of differing lengths and various levels of enjoyment. Overall beautiful cinematography so even if the vignettes do not talk to you it is worth checking out for the enjoyment of vistas. Heavy heavy Southern accents thruout so for those not natively speaking English it can be a struggle without subtitles. My ranking of the vignettes from very enjoyable to super annoying is the following:

  1. The Mortal Remains - Witty and funny dialogue and facial expressions (the exchange between Mrs Betjeman and the Frenchman)
  2. All Gold Canyon - simply just beautiful even if the turn of events becomes unbelivable
  3. The Gal who Got Rattled - The vignette with the best plot among the six. Ending was unexpected...
  4. Near Algodones - James Franco has an excellent Western movie face - Bronsonesque quality
  5. The Ballad of Buster Scruggs - Starts out funny, becomes annoying quick and ends up stupid
  6. Meal Ticket - Extremely annoying and drawn out till the much awaited and well deserved end for the protagonist
