Strange and grotesque--you can see how this definitely leads to "Freaks" a few years later. This movie felt very slight, as it really just has the one idea: what if the guy with no arms....had ARMS?? It tries to hang a narrative on that idea and mostly succeeds, but it's really an act of contortion that gets us to the final climax involving two horses on treadmills. It's fun, but pretty bizarre.
