It's set in a fictional town, but yup! It's pretty spot on w/ how it portrays Scottish island living.
many of the outdoor scenes were filmed on the isle of man while other scenes were filmed in Glasgow and at the Caerlaverock castle in Dumfries and by Loch fine in Argyll.
