Becky 2020

"There once was a little girl, who had a little curl, right in the middle of her forehead. When she was good, she was very, very good. But when she was bad, she was horrid."

Nothing quite as satisfying as watching a teenage girl taking down a bunch of escaped Nazi convicts. Becky is a home invasion cat-and-mouse horror thriller with one hell of a cool main character, Lulu Wilson's Becky is a character I wouldn't want to mess with. She did great in the role but I was especially surprised by Kevin James, an excellent villain performance I really hated him. I got some Home Alone vibes throughout whenever Becky devises an elaborate plan involving the most common objects to defend herself. It's not Home Alone though, there's some serious bloody and gory consequences. Love the score, clever editing, cool characters, single location, gory well-thought out kills and the fight scenes are pretty realistic for the abnormal circumstances. I was never bored but it lost a little bit of steam in the second half. They could have pushed the Nazi stuff further (more shocking) it was missing a bit of edge on that. You sorta forget they're Nazis in the second half, I needed a reminder! Intrigued for the sequel.

Off to buy some school supplies now...
