This season is so overproduced and boring. I don't see the point of an improv challenge if they're just going to edit it like a regular acting challenge, since the whole fun of it is that the queens are acting live and can demonstrate their quick wit and humor onstage. I think Kahanna probably suspected that she was being pushed to go home this week (I mean FOUR acting/comedy challenges in a row, she took the hint girl), and I can understand why she didn't even want to bother staying for the entire episode. That is how predictable Drag Race has become.
