WrestleMania 1985

Definitely not my first time to watch this one as I've been a fan of "professional wrestling" for many many years. While the original Wrestlemania event was massive on an entertainment scale (literally turned the world of pro wrestling from an almost obscure, little-known, almost cult-following sideline "sport" into the present-day "sports entertainment" behemoth that it is today) for fans of the "wrestling" or "sports entertainment" aspect, this, by today's standards, is horribly embarrassing. Fun to watch but man, it's atrocious; the agility, the ability (or lack of, in most cases), the storylines, was difficult to watch today...still fun, yes, but laughably so. My hat is off, however, to Vince McMahon, Jr. for having the business acumen and the foresight to look light-years beyond where that world (of pro wrestling) was when he stepped onto the scene and instead dare to step into dangerous waters and bring us what we have now. Any and every fan of "pro wrestling" has benefitted from Wrestlemania even if it is laughable by today's standards. It took several years' worth of Wrestlemania events before they finally dropped the "celebrities" and just went with their own people so yeah, you have to tolerate that for awhile. And it was bad - horribly bad - here in 1986, in the original Wrestlemania. Still fun to watch, though.
