Scully ridiculously pulling the woman card, unnecessarily and incorrectly in this circumstance. Out of character.

Factually, people get away with murders all the time. Many go unsolved. I guess the writer didn't know that. And in-storyline, she knows her sister was killed by the most secretive and powerful organization ever, and yet expects the killers to be found quickly. I guess the writer forgot about that. Wasn't she even told by X that they could have someone killed and the killers would be out of the country in 2 hours? I guess the writer forgot about that.

Ugh, who wrote this? Oh god please no, no, yep, it's Chris Carter. That makes sense.

Oh god, we're not even 10 minutes into the episode...

Ugh. The alien storyline and Chris Carter's writing is driving me insane. It's reminding me of Picard season 1 and 2. Those seasons were some of the most boring and insanity ridden seasons i've ever seen of television. And it was two of them... Two seasons in a row of terrible, terrible garbage. Luckily in the x files it's only one storyline, with only a few episodes of it each season. But i've been feeling that creeping feeling of insanity. That feeling where you know the writing is utter trash that you could write a book about how bad it is. It's only the alien storyline that has gotten closer to that kind of quality, the writing of it. In regards to the other aspects like characters and direction, it's still mostly good.

The alien storyline died a long time ago, but now The X Files boogeyman Chris Carter has returned to bury the corpse. The corpse could have been ressurected in some kind of sci-fi esque nature ala the show, but Chris Carter could not let go of directing the alien storyline, and he returned to bury the corpse.

In the fandom and wherever you hear people talk about the x files, it's a common talking point how the alien storyline eventually lost its way during the show, and then during the revival Chris Carter pretty much ruined it, and most were disappointed with the results. In my view upon rewatching, Chris Carter lost his way soon after starting the show, and the alien storyline has gotten worse with every season. Season 2 is where i think it fell apart, and season 3 killed and buried it.

I guess the black oil knew exactly what to do after returning to civilization since WW2. It knew to go into Krychek for some reason. It also knew exactly where he was all the time for some reason. Stop, trying to make it make sense, it doesn't on it's own and further doesn't make sense when combined with past information, just stop, it's dead and buried, you can't ressurect it, just move on to actual good episodes and try to get through the alien episodes as quick as possible.

Skinner gets shot... As a message? For keeping Scully's sister's case open? When it was closed? And he was going to appeal which would be denied, so there would be no reason to send a message, along with the fact you don't want to antagonize him because he's the assistant director, and you don't want to accidentally kill him because it would cause attention and he may be a martyr for other agents...

Stop. Remember, it's Chris Carter's writing. Just stop and move on asap to the good standalone episodes.
