Meet Me in St. Louis 1944

I thought this was just lovely--wonderful, nostalgia-based film that reminded me a tiny bit of "How Green Was My Valley" in POV (if not in tone.) Judy Garland turns in a genuine performance, and the young Margaret O'Brien was super fantastic in a role that could have easily been annoying (also have to give a shout out to her supreme weirdness with the dead dolls and beheaded snowmen.) The songs here were somewhat unremarkable, other than the Trolley Song and of course the magnificent "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."
