it also irritated me a bit, but then again percy is a 12 year old kid, so it is in character. i'm pretty sure at least some of the writers know the difference
was it the writers or the dyslexic children ? not many 12/13 year olds do know the difference commonly

This episode bugged me because the writers don't know the difference between poisonous and venomous and continued to utilize the wrong word over and over in the episode.
