We thought exactly the same. I think he was just looking out for her very carefully for where she was going and such. He cared a lot for her as she was his helicopter buddy. It was creepy though.
@cassai61 Yeah, I figured there was going to be a reveal that he was obsessed with her and he'd crossed some boundaries but it kinda never came.

Wow that was a surprise. It is very rare that I get surprised, you can usually see the outcome miles away. Still one little thing I don't understand, why was Shane lurking in and around Maya's house? He seemed certainly surprised that Maya had killed Joe so he wasn't already suspecting her. Was he just looking out for her then?
