A journey into the hell of war through the eyes of a child, horror is everywhere, the only beauty is in its aesthetic melancholy, with breathtaking black and white images. I thought the movie could have balanced the story better and focused on its development, as I felt that too many violent, graphic and unnecessary scenes took over, the overtones seeming to be there more to shock gratuitously than to tell or fill out a story.
