It obviously pales in comparison to the show, but it's pretty darn good. It pretty much nails the vibe and off-kilter humour, there's an adequate amount of eye motifs, and Jim Carrey is an excellent Count Olaf. I also love how often they use practical effects and sets.
Stuffing three books into one movie was a weird choice, but the pacing was fine despite it. Unfortunately, it's difficult to help myself from comparing this to the show, but even though it never got any sequels, it was still a fun time.
