I put off watching this because I genuinely didn't think I'd be interested in a Barbie movie, and also the controversy around it was beyond exhausting.
It was actually quite entertaining, and hit the full spectrum of emotions. I'm sure a certain type of person, a very weak type of person, could find ways to be outraged at this film. For the rest of us real human beings, both Barbies and Kens should enjoy the film.
For the little kens (lowercase k intentional) in the comments going on about how this is anti-male, feminist, etc, let me reiterate just how embarrassingly weak you are. The point of the film went sailing over your head.
Overall, this was a clever and unique take on Barbie that surprised me in a good way. It's not the most deep or profound film, but has a nice message that everyone should be able to appreciate. The goofy humor was paced well so the parts that hit you in the feels don't linger too long.
Oh yeah, and the credits song after the final scene goes hard.
