House 2004

Best adaptation of Sherlock Holmes ever. Even better than BBC's Sherlock (it lacks the drug abuse and 'unethical' practices from the detective. It's too "politically correct", it's somewhat annoying). Now if you think I'm on the wrong show posting this, either you didn't watch House MD, or you don't know Sherlock Holmes...

This was the best adaptation of House.

Nothing sherlock holmes alike. But i can understand why you have the feeling.

Series creator David Shore stated in an interview that Gregory House's character is partly inspired by Sherlock Holmes. Even the name "House" is a play on "Holmes" (with British pronunciation, a homophone for "homes"). In this sense, House is a better Sherlock than BBC's Sherlock, IMO. Also, "House MD" was not an adaptation. It was conceived and created as a TV Show, this very one we just watched... I beg your pardon, but I don't see your point, Bishop. (So late in answer, but I never got any kind of notifications for this...)

@ttofano We can also add that Arthur Conan Doyle took inspiration from a doctor to create Sherlock Holmes, Jospeh Bell, cited on the series too :)

Thank you for this thread (: I started to notice little things because of it - like the guy that shot House is named Moriarty in script (never actually pronounced in the episode, though) or that House lives in 221B (it has been on the building once or twice, then there has been 221 and B on the door to his apartment). I'm around third of the show and this thread actually made me pay more attention, so I don't miss stuff like this (:

@ttofano House is constantly popping pills and his status as a drug abuser is a constant theme throughout the series. Thanks for playing though...Johnny, tell us about ttofano's parting gifts....
