Great Story.
I was hesitant to watch at first, as I'm a huge animal lover and do not want to see animals get hurt/die in movies.....Anyways, Yes the dogs dies - but with the excellent writing, its only a moment of sadness followed by " Joy of Puppies!. Definitely worth a watch. The main storyline is about a dog finding the meaning of his life. Even if he dies & comes back as a different breed.!
Controversy aside A Dog's Purpose is simple and entertaining family fare. The movie is clichéd and predictable and the movie loses steam a bit as it goes but the movie does exactly what it set out to do.
Sweet, emotionally manipulative and lacking in substance.
How adorable. Lumpy throat and laughter. Poor Carlos and Ellie. But hurray for Boss Dog
I'm an emotional wreck after watching this.
Too touching! I cried everytime the dog was dying!!!
Shamelessly manipulative, this dog's purpose is to pull on your heart strings until you are sat in a gooey puddle of snot and tears! I don't think it was a good movie, but I give it an extra point for breaking my pessimistic heart, even though I tried to resist its efforts.
After the video that leaked out I am officially boycotting this movie.
You don't treat an animal like that.
Ignore the hateful comments and trash-ban from that leaked video and enjoy a heartwarming movie that everyone who ever had a dog or lost one will like. You can't go wrong with a dog movie.
Its makes you a little sad but you will also have enjoyable feeling. The message it's great.
This movie made my day but also made me cry. It's sooo good!
This film takes you on a dog's heartwarming, and beautiful quantum leap adventure, the supporting cast by his side were great, and the script had a good sense of humour. Not one to be missed so go fetch it!
:heart::heart::heart::heart::heart::heart::heart: - An amazing film. Truly defines a dog's loyalty doesn't matter who it's owner is
My rating system works:

This is a good family movie that touches on simple truths of life. You will not regret the time spent watching it.
I will rate this movie Dog's love/10
As soon as this movie started I yelled "Puppies!!" and then decided to watch the whole thing. I suggest you make the same decision. Yelling "Puppies!" is optional.
Although entirely predictable throughout and very sentimental, it is watchable thanks to the focus on following the human story from the dog's point of view and it would work well as a family film. However, the film's plot also centres around a strange element that suggests the central hero is reincarnated several times in order to fulfil it's purpose. This seems a rather hamfisted way of creating a central throughline to the story given that the narrator is the central character, yet a film that followed several different dogs would have still retained the theme of the film as well as made those moments where people lose their pet much more meaningful.
A very beautiful movie, it makes you cry, some very beautiful landscapes and those puppies are so beautiful. A sequel would work.
This film deserves more than 10 stars.
I just thought I'd cry in the end of the movie. But man, I was so wrong.
trashing movies with animals, means trashing the animals. such a fucking low blow.
Amazing Movie
Great movie! Had some great life lessons in it. Whole family enjoyed it, and everyone left happy! Dennis Quaid did a great job as usual.
I think that it gives some great perspectives on life. A dog's point of view definitely simplifies things. I feel that the point of the movie is to remember to enjoy the little things in life. While life can be hard, one must remember to enjoy the little things. If not, what's the point?
I also like how it shows different people's lives and their way of life.
If you are a dog person, you'll love it, go see it!
A good movie. Not quite high quality, but still nice to watch.
Quite disappointing movie. The acting is quite good but the story of the dog is a little bit weird and not too well connected. Are there subliminal messages embedded in the story? Like why is the dog at some point female but still male inside?
Great idea for a story but somehow didn't really mesmerise enough…
I'm a big animal lover and any time I see an animal in pain or dying I get really sad & emotional. I think this was a really good film, I only watched the first hour as personally I found this film too hard to watch.
I can't say it any better than fellow commentator Villain, " "A Dog's Purpose is simple and entertaining family fare. The movie is clichéd and predictable and the movie loses steam a bit as it goes but the movie does exactly what it set out to do." There was some controversy around the picture regarding allegation of abuse of the animals. But the subsequent investigation absolved them, saying the leaked on-set footage had been manipulated to mislead, and the integrity of the on-set animal supervision was defended by the American Humane Association (http://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.3967494). I give the film a 6.5 (touching family fare) out of 10.
What a great movie! Not a dry eye in the house....go back to boycotting Chick Fil A
Eu já estou preparado pro filme.. =(

A very sweet film, that has you laughing and crying. It was a rollercoaster ride of emotions, but really just showed how important it is to love and care for people in your life.
