What a lovely movie! Timothée Chalamet was made for roles like this, but for me Elle Fanning was the start of the movie, great acting by her, all the little things she did for her character were amazing. I really like movies like this, Woody Allen don't disappoint.
The ones with the low rating are basically Ashleigh Enright
I loved it despite the tons of negative comments.
Kinda reminds me of The Catcher in the Rye
Holden Caulfield is as much of a phony as the rest of them.
Dialogues, dialogues, dialogues and New York
Too slow and simple. I expected more. It is not even a romantic comedy.
Far removed from classic Woody Allen - anything post-2000 can be considered the same - but this isn't a bad effort, and the two leads are good, as always.
Typical Woody Allen movie. Super unrealistic behaviour, people in their early 20s talking and acting like pensioners. It feels like I am watching a theater play, not a movie. If it was ok back in the 70s, nowadays it's definitely quite stupid.
Am I really the only one who noticed the character of director Roland Pollard seems like a reference to director Roman Polanski, making Rainy Day an inside joke from one sex offender to another while the young Elle Fanning trots about the film throwing herself at older men?
This fact aside, however, at least it's still a shit film. Every character (apart from the one played by Selena Gomez) is Allen so we're subjected to a parade of bad Woody impressions complete with jokes they're unable to pull off. Not to mention the surprisingly bad editing and a sadly predictable scenario. Fortunately, the film was poorly lit in an effort to hide just how awful this vanity project truly is.
Best to stay out of this storm or risk getting sick.
Wow, that was BORING!!! Timothee Chalamet was probably the best thing in it.
Stop paying Woody Allen, please.
Chalamet is great, Fanning is great, supporting characters are great. And i wanted to watch this movie cuz of Selena but somehow she's the one i hate the most, i mean what happened, has she forgotten acting? Seriously! She needs some serious acting lessons.
