What makes it so nice is that it is light-hearted, but also incredibly relatable. And a good reminder that everyone has problems, and it's easy to forget that when you are too focused on your own.
Y'all love everything fat...Santa...chubby kittens...burritos...can us fat people get some love too sheeeeit lol
An enjoyable and inspiring comedy drama. Almost made me get off the sofa and go for a run. I say almost, because I decided to eat a packet of Quavers and play video games afterwards instead.
I enjoyed this and really related to it as a 28 year old who has been trying to lose weight. Jillian Bell was great. The story is uplifting and motivating.
Suffers from far too many plotlines and throwaway tangents during its meandering middle, but that doesn’t stop Brittany from being a funny yet nuanced comedy drama with a positive message. Not bad at all.
"I’m not going to be your fat sidekick anymore."
As someone who use to be an athlete and ran a lot, this movie hit a few spots for me. I was worried it was going to be a comedy about being overweight and have some Amy Schumer style jokes, but it was different than that! I laughed, I related, I got sad, then got inspired.
Oh, and it is based on a true story.
This was a really nice feel good movie about a woman during a time in her life who needs some improvements and motivation. The fact that everyone has been there in some form or another makes it highly relatable. A movie that shows if you believe ... than anything is possible especially being good to yourself. A great watch.
I enjoyed it, I couldn't relate to the story, it's too "American" for me, but I think it's fine.
I didn't make much of it. I thought it was very sweet, cute, and worth watching. But that's it. Nevertheless my partner loved it. I always feel something special when I know the person who is watching the movie with me enjoyed the movie so much. That gives the overall experencie extra points.
[Amazon] It is an enjoyable movie but not too inspired. It tries to avoid stereotypes, but it sends an ambiguous message around overweight people (an unhappy background always hides under the apparent happiness). It is less comedy than what they sell us. And in some moments it seems that it will be less predictable than it is. But the proposal is not intended to take risks.

Jillian Bell was so good in this film, portraying a woman who heard the daily putdowns and insensitive and passive-aggressive comments, the insidiousness of which fed her self-defeating behaviors, and turned her life around by taking the next right action and realizing that it was actually good to ask for help, and let those who care about you in.
