Utter garbage, Car 54, Where Are You? is an inept goofball comedy based on the popular ‘60s television series. The story follows a lazy, pompous police officer who’s paired up with a by-the-book rookie. David Johansen (aka Buster Poindexter) is just awful (spitting out his dialog), and doesn’t have any chemistry with his co-stars. However, Fran Drescher and Jeremy Piven are able to make their parts work and deliver some laughs. But by and large the jokes are terrible and the plot doesn’t make a lot of sense. Car 54, Where Are You? is a poorly made film that isn’t any fun to watch.
