A decent ride with some twists and turns around the way. Props for a film highlighting a fear many of us sapphics have - being made to feel like a predator. It fucking sucks.
The film has this idealistic teen filter that so much media does these days but once you get past that there is something decent underneath. It may have been a twisted way to start a friendship, but it's nice to end up with a great friend..
Also, super relatable conversation about wanting SMG to step on them.
Also, revenge mommy.
What in the teenage drama was this?? First of all the main character was just unlikable and the plot was weird. I guess it started good but in the middle I found myself bored and I skipped some parts. Also the fact that they tried to put in some teenage phrases made me cringe plus the talk with the headmaster in the end was just not it for me. I do gotta say tho I liked the taylor swift reference.
A very enjoyable, fun movie that has a great cast, plenty of familiar faces for regular Netflix watchers. A solid twist, the only thing I kind of dislike is the fact that after everything Drea and Eleanor become friends. Something I would never imagine myself doing with the girls who bullied me.
Oh and a nice treat was the little role for Sophie Turner! She is awesome, I love her.
i love scheming sapphics so much
OKAY. I totally called the "outsider enjoys her new group of friends" Mean Girls bit and figured that was that and it was just gonna be a cute movie. Don't know if that was just me, but I totally did not see that twist coming lmao. Literal jaw drop moment.
She still hit her with a car though :skull: like i'd be crazy enough to forgive her for everything else but girl... cmon now...
Great soundtrack, beautiful outfits and a fantastic cast! And an amazing twist, absolutely loved this.
avoidable... such a dumb movie with a bunch of unlikeable characters
It's dumb af but it's a whole lotta fun. Soundtrack and fits are A++
"I was gonna hole up in the screening room and catch a Goddard flick if you wanna ditch the suckfest."
"I only trim my bonzai when I'm especially vexed."
Sophie Turner gives one of the finest performances from a barely there supporting role that I've seen in years. This film is amazing.
Best teen movie of this type I've seen in a long time. Entertaining throughout, pretty good performances, and even a decent twist that I never saw coming. Was a fun time.
Twist, after twist, after twist with most of those being cliché and predictable. I have seen a lot of high school/coming of age films and this movie feels like that one big scene from all of those done all in one movie. This film tries so hard to appear flashy and memorable but it comes off unoriginal and forgettable.
Great movie to watch on a Saturday afternoon or Sunday evening. Chill movie with a nice twist. Also, the costumes fit the set perfectly.
drea and nora should’ve been endgame :pensive:
Good fun teen movie with a good twist. Well worth a watch :thumbsup_tone1:.
this is peak gay cinema
A high school take on Hitchcock's "Strangers on a Train", but with a "Thelma and Louise" twist. I rolled my eyes a few times but found it moderately entertaining overall.
6/10
Actually better than I was expecting. Nothing new about it per se but a teen drama film that I can enjoy and could see myself watching again on a rainy afternoon. I would recommend.
A typical mix of rebellious teenage cinema... no surprises.
I wanted to like this movie, but it’s just too silly. It’s aimed squarely at tweens who imagine high school to be like a mashup of Gossip Girl, Clueless, and Jawbreaker. The story is Mean Girls as told by Regina George, but the villain here is too vapid and shallow to be at all sympathetic.
It's like a mixed up off Cruel Intentions, Mean Girls, and many other 90's movies... adapted to our times !!! I don't really know if this is a masterpiece of an adolescent film treating even mental issues themes and paying tribute to the 90's movies... or just a nonsense movie with mixed up crap lol ... btw Camila makes the same character of Veronica Lodge xd (Riverdale)
A fun, chaotic mess that knows not to take itself too seriously.
good cast, some fun plot twists. Nice flick for a slow evening when nothing else is on
YESSSS please just watch this film it’s a rice and a half
Would've been funnier if it had been a little crazier -- I feel like this subgenre of teen chick-flick has only gotten tamer since Heathers, but it was colorful and entertaining and I didn't see the twist coming.
But the ending in particular felt like such a safe choice. Let's just team up against the unquestionably evil male villain! Girl power! Never mind that I just hit you with my car. The relationship between the leads is basically assumed and would've worked better if it had been romantic, since then we wouldn't have had to spend runtime on the other love interests (who also safely take Drea and Eleanor back post-credits, because whatever, what's consequences). You can practically smell the multiple rewrites the script must have gone through, so most of the appeal is in the updated humor and social commentary compared to Mean Girls.
Having not heard of this one and just stumbling across it on Netflix, I went in with no expectations. It is far from perfect, but a great addition to the straight to Netflix catalog. If you like the cast, or high school hijinks type movies, this one is amusing enough and worth a watch!
Rating: 3/5 - 7.5/10 - Worth Watching
Did not see the twist coming, bravo. (Though I was confused at how much runtime was left at that point, so I guess I should have seen a twist coming).
Was distracted in the second half by the thought of Maya Hawke and Camila Mendes and Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn, I couldn't unsee it.
Do not mess with women for real. Listen up my brothers and sister. Do not disrespect a woman who is willing to share their intimate private side with you, cuz after you betray her she is gonna hunt you down. Great chemistry between the lead actors, i knew Maya she is always atomic good, but never heard of Camilla. She was really good to haha fun fact that some of y'all thought that her name is a fan account of Shawn Mendes and his love. Check the funny promo interviews for the movie, not gonna get bored. Great teen/highschool movie with twists. Watch it Enjoy it.
nothing special, except the actors. but still a fun ride.
idk it’s the traumatized girls uniting to destroy the male embodiment of all they’ve been through for me
this is the movie version of i support women’s wrongs
What a cool, original concept!
A bipolar movie about bipolar people. Some times they are good, sometimes they are bad. Sometimes they are best friends, sometimes they are applying revenge. This is so baddly done that I just wish Buffy would come and slay them all.
what the hell was that? lol
This could have been an entertaining take on Strangers On A Train. Instead, it's typical teen fare with a set of mostly unlikeable characters.
