Dr. Caligari 1989

Feels more like a stage play than a movie because of the camp acting and bad sets. It's weirdness for the sake of weirdness. One or two decent lines of dialogue. Pretentious. Trashy.

It's a weird campy horror from the 80s, and it's pretty neat.

I thought I would have no idea what will be going on, but it was easy to follow. I probably am following my interpretation of it, and the director has something else in mind.

From what I can tell, the movie takes place in an alternate universe where Dr. Calgari’s granddaughter becomes a world-renowned psychologist that can treat patients but with very unethical methods, but that's just surface level. There's something more sinister at hand.

I don't know if I would recommend it to everyone but definitely to those who love 80s campy horror with a peculiar vibe.
