Well, that plot twist... I didn't see it coming.
Don't listen to all the avacado toast eaters giving poor reviews... if you love sci fi.. it's a good watch with a good twist.. and it's free so stfu
Just started watching this...39 min in and I need Lucy to STFU. Her heavy breathing and crying is working on my nerves and let's just pull the batteries from Herman before they all die. Hope it gets better.
If you find yourself with an hour and a half spare, do yourself a favour......go for a walk.
Nice twist to the invasion from another planet gendre. If the youngest kid was mine though, I'd have put a bullet through the back of her skull within the first 10minutes... 7/10
interesting twist on the story.
well acted by Michael Pena, he was the only one though :)
crappy script for the most part and I'd have throttled those kids if I was the parent - they were totally annoying.
Nice plot twist I didn't see coming, nothing special, easy to watch flick
Loved it.
Always good to see a movie that isn't easy predict.
Basic alien invasion flick with an awesome twist! loved it!
Felt more like a first episode of the beginning of a series then a movie. Very open ending. Nice easy watching.
I though it was ok, not the best though.
I wouldn't mind seeing this as a series, but with more than 10 episodes a season
I really wanted to like it more, but it just felt too generic and without depth. It's not that terrible tho.
The idea was good but it was poorly done ...
Nightmares or premonitions? The girl I would have thrown on the balcony for her screams and bother, attack at night to save money, I like how the tone changes
Terrible movie. The kids were 100% the worst part of the movie. .
The action is extremely generic, some of the scenes are way too dark in HDR (Game of thrones season 8 syndrome) and the dialogue by the children was very annoying. Everytime a child spoke on screen, it was annoying. The only credit I will give is the premise itself.
A good premise shoved into a generic cheap action movie.
Interesting idea but all other is average
I liked this movie a lot! The story surprised me several times and I cared about the characters. Micheal Pena was really great as a serious leading actor.
I absolutely loved the visuals! I recommend it to anyone who likes sci-fi.
Good sci-fi film And amazing plot twist but i felt it was dragged and all over the place
The twist was nice, but this film reallly felt like they took a 43 minute TV pilot and stretched it unsuccessfully into a 90 minute film.
Call me selfish but I will not the robots rule the earth.
Simply crap. Such a waste of time.
I wish I could get back these last 96 minutes.
I am a sucker for apocalyptic movies so I had high hopes and sadly this movie didn't meet those hopes. While it starts out interesting, it dulls out quite quickly and it manages to come back but not nearly good enough. for me, it was quite clear that the 'aliens' could be either human or an advanced human species. It turned out halfway through the movie that they were in fact humans, escaped to Mars because the Robots took over. This was an interesting twist because I didn't see the Robot angle coming, but the characters lacked depth, the plot could've gone deeper and darker and the ending was super predictable and quite boring. Good to watch on a lazy night in but don't expect too much.
all the script is just terrible
Crappy storytelling. Didn't anyone ever hear about "Show, don't tell"?
Loved this. I wish they evolved this into a sci-fi series. This movie would make a great pilot episode.
The plot twist just saved the whole movie. I was almost giving up. Ps: Lucy is freaking annoying.
My God, that small girl crying is so annoying. I really care that she is scared, but listing to half an hour of crying is annoying.
wasn’t what I expected and it got real dumb when the plot twist is exposed
Yes, kind of silly, but it was fun and I gotta admit I enjoyed it...
Major plot twist which ultimately made the film way better than i thought.
Kind of interesting twist, but the premise of the movie seems wholly unbelievable. Why would robots wants to pretend to be human after they took over the planet?
Worst film i ever seen.
The basic premise of this film is so terrifically flawed that it's impossible to appreciate its good intentions.
This film was pretty cheap for the first half, then after the plot twist it actually became interesting.
1st half = 4/10
2nd half = 8/10
The story was ok, reminiscent of the TV show Humans, and Black Mirror. if you like those then you'll enjoy this.
Great story. Unfortunate that Netflix got it. With bigger stars and better budget and a better director, this would have been an amazing movie.
An interesting movie about an alien invasion with a twist in the middle that makes the viewer wonder who the Invaders are.
Acting was so bad, that you did not believe a single emotion – |spoiler]maybe that was the point of the movie anyways[/spoiler] but I doubt it. Story was just as bad as every other SciFi you can watch and apart from the twist at the end it was just unnecessary…
Love Pena and Caplan, nice flip...
I was bored from this movie at first, especially with the little girl. But the twist in the plot is not what I was expecting at all. Turned out to be a pretty good movie.
Good concepts and nice visuals, but the script is a little shaky. Still, if you're a sci-fi buff, you will be able to forgive the film its flaws. It's not the end of the world, after all, if the film doesn't quite live up to expectations.
Very mediocre.
It's about ~15minutes of psychological mystery, ~40minutes of a very poor Alien-apocalypse generic flick, a few minutes for a twist~ then some also-ran action scenes to the end.
Honestly the first 15mins felt very promising, but so much of the run time is just really cliche run and hide action scenes with some very weak CGI. The closing shot is what you'd expect from a video game cutscene around 10 years ago.
When you stop for 5 seconds and consider what must be happening on the world stage (we see just one area of one city) a lot more questions are asked than answered.
It's hard to sympathize with these synth if they were the ones occupying earth also Michael Peña is not that good in Drama or in Action they should off casted Ramon Rodriguez .. Excellent twist but poor execution and ridiculous how they made the suit of humans look like alien skins just to trick viewers ..
Good idea but it annoyed me how constantly the kids were allowed to put themselves in danger that it kinda killed the movie for me
I actually liked this movie. Michael Pena surprised me, cause I'm used to him being the comedian. He turned out to be better than I thought. Interesting story line too.
25 minutes into the movie, I begun to feel sleepy. Woke up to the last 10 minutes of the film. So bad. Boring start. Boring ending.

Yess, the movie is definately mysterious, has action and interesting story. Best thing is, I didn't know anything about the story before I watched this and it turns out to be really good. One of the better movies I watched this year, I recommend it!
