Horror list (third gen) part 2
More than one hundred (100) body horror movies ranked.
This list is in order, ranked from best to worst in regards to Body Horror. My rating of them based on how good of a movie they generally are (acting and plot and so on) AND body horror.
These are movies I've actually watched. Movies that are primarily about body horror or movies that have more body horror in them appear higher on this list regardless of rating. In addition, supernatural movies rank lower. This list is a work in progress and I am still adding movies to it almost daily.

Tends to focus on psychological horror, tension building (suspense), and the supernatural, particularly involving ghosts (yūrei) and poltergeists.
I tried to avoid movies where the screen time was very short or if the "monster" was just a simple zombie.

Movies in japanese that I've watched. Mainly from Japan.
Prior to the establishment of UK state censorship implemented in the Video Recordings Act of 1984, censorship was in the realms of the courts and the Obscene Publications Act. This required the courts to apply the test of whether videos were likely to "deprave and corrupt" the viewer. The Director Of Public Prosecutions (DPP) maintained a list of those videos that were felt likely to be found obscene by the courts and hence worthwhile prosecuting.
Of course, the real drivers behind the moral panic were the UK press led by the ever obnoxious Daily Mail. Not to mention a few politicians who felt they could make a name for themselves.
Several versions of the video nasty list were published with videos added and removed over the period 1983-1985. 72 videos were listed at least for a while. Another couple of films can stake a claim via a shared name with listed films. 39 made it through to the end, and these became known as the DPP39s. These 39 titles became the most sought after collectibles.
The Guinea Pig films (ギニーピッグ Ginī Piggu?) are a series of six controversial Japanese horror films from the 1980-90s. The series achieved global notoriety mostly for the first two films as the producer needed to prove that nobody was actually hurt or murdered. The producer Hideshi Hino's original concept was to create a film adaptation of his manga work.
