Movies and shorts based on the works of HP Lovecraft (some only loosely), have Lovecraftian themes or strong references to Lovecraft or are clearly Lovecraft inspired.

Some might be fringe cases and not considered Lovecraftian by purists but are included because the atmosphere is suggestive of Lovecraft's work, there are clear nods to Lovecraft and in some case it is just because of name dropping or big tentacle monsters.

Includes the Pope, because why not? Also includes religious figures from non-Christian religions, such as Buddha, Greek gods, whatever. Excludes self-proclaimed gods (ex. god of rock) who aren't actually gods, rulers that are considered gods, people commonly considered gods by their fans (Notice me, Bill Nye-senpai), and sex partners of people who say "Oh god" while they knock boots. 2016 was terrible year, we can all agree on that. But not for animation (at least). We were given some amazing standalone movies, some sequels, first R rated mainstream animated movie and so much more. Even though that mainstream studios ruled the charts again, we were given some obscure moves to. Definitely one worth to mention.
