A good progression of the previous movies I'd say. The overarching story that John Wick is going through is also quite interesting. Actions-wise it's not as good as the first, but better than the second I'd say.
John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, in my opinion, falls short compared to the first two movies. The fight scenes drag on for too long and don't live up to the standards set by its predecessors. While Keanu Reeves still delivers a solid performance, the film lacks the same magic and excitement. Die-hard fans may enjoy it, but it didn't meet my expectations.
I was enjoying it until like 60% in, then it went back to being trash like the second part.
Good to see them embracing the funny - after part 2 being so hilariously bad, at least now they have a comedy genre as an excuse.
It's gotten even more ridiculous, but somehow, John Wick 3 was fun to watch. Expect a fast pace, lots of blood and little logic. Great visual style, though.
This series has become a guilty pleasure of mine and a parody of itself. They're not even trying at times anymore, especially when it comes to some of the hand-to-hand stuff. But there's room in my world for something like this, and part of me appreciates the fact that they're (hopefully) not taking themselves too seriously at this point.
The story was boring but the action was good.
good fighting scenes, but a little bit too long. They last 8-10 minutes each. But sometimes there is not enough variation in movements and such.
Anyway, it's good entertainment.
John Wick’s bloody rampage continues in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. After being declared excommunicado and having a bounty placed on his head John Wick books passage out of the county and uses a marker to call in a favor to help him get a meeting with the man above the table; meanwhile an adjudicator is sent to New York to administer penalties on Winston and the Bowery King for aiding John Wick. The fight scenes are incredibly exciting and action-packed, and are staged in really creative ways. The plot however, is rather lackluster and kind of pointless. There are some interesting additions to the mythos of this assassin world, but nothing that significant; in fact the world feels completely different than the one set up in the first film. Yet despite all its problems, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum is an entertaining and fun action film.
As someone who liked the 1st and loved the 2nd due to its huge expansion this 3rd entry feels very filler-ish. There's a lot of great action but the movie itself doesn't have a concrete story structure to follow. It feels like a part 1 of X (which if it was the case it would be good) but it isn't. It did felt like they are starting to stretch the franchise in order to milk it. It would've been really cool if they had ended it with a trilogy and then some spin off but... what a waste.
Also, this sequel removes part of the impact of the ending of its predecessor (which isn't good).
Still hugely enjoyable but the joke is starting to wear a bit thin now for me.
John Wick remains possibly the blandest action hero to ever grace the screen, which to be fair is a perfect match for Keanu's perpetual idle expression and flat speech (you know you're terrible when Halle Berry outshines you). But seriously, could you not write some better comebacks for him than "no you won't", "thank you", "yeaaaah"? Most are not even one-liners but one-worders.
Besides that, the movie is yet another succession of choreographed head-popping scenes—featuring mindless assailants to whom it never occurs to camp on some vantage point using a scoped weapon to take out a predictably mobile target—all with barely a hint of plot to tie it all together. John rebels and gets hunted down by the organization pulling the strings, but then for incoherent reasons involving his dead wife decides to go through a great deal of trouble to make amends, only to inexplicably change his mind again later. Yep, that's the "story".
Watchable for the action, but also entirely skippable.
The first 2 movies were better, simply because this one lacked any reasonable story. Sure, you don't watch John Wick for the great story, but I expected at least a little. In other words there was no development at all - everybody is at the exact same spot at the end.
There was one scene that was really ugly though and I had to look away because it was too brutal: when his dog licked his face - so disgusting!
Do you know that meme about Raiders of the Lost Ark that says that, in the end, if Indiana would have never interplayed with the nazis to prevent them from getting the Lost Ark the movie would have come to the very same outcome? Ok, John Wick 3 is the same. Everything that happens in screen is just a cheap excuse to come back to the beginning, restore the status quo and make a chapter 4 as if chapter 3 almost didn't happened.
This was basically a macho musical. Nohing but well choreographed dance/fight scenes set to action guitar riffs. The plot was so anorexically thin that I became numb to the fighting.
Lame ass movie. This is Rambo 4 on speed. But there is a lot of guns and of course Halle Berry is in it, which gives it an extra plus.
No way close to John Wick Chapter 1 or even close to Chapter 2 which is bad but still good than this last Chapter, sorry but a waste of time, no comedie, bad execution.
5 - Meh
You wanna see Keanu Reeves kill people for two hours? Of course! That's why this is part 3
Looks like 5 mins of talking for 2 hours movie is enough nowadays.
Orientalism at its best :person_facepalming_tone1:♀:person_facepalming_tone1:♀
Disappointing... The 3rd chapter of the John Wick saga had much less of a story to it and although people watch John Wick for the action and fight scenes and not the story, this film just felt like plain senseless violence.
I don’t get the appeal of these.
Yeah, the stuntwork’s great, but I see no redeeming qualities besides that. The acting sucks, the dialogue’s corny, the story is schlock that’s presented way too seriously, the characters are uninteresting, there’s little to no tension because the main character is an invincible cartoon, the music’s unmemorable and generic, and most of the film is just plain damn boring.
All the good stuff that this has to offer is also offered by franchises like Mission Impossible and Fast and Furious, and more on top of that.
You’re not getting the clever intrigue or fun gimmicks of the MI franchise here, nor the tongue in cheek comedy or creative, over the top insanity of the F&F franchise.
This is so boring by comparison to me.
4/10
They say that power without control is useless, in this case it applies perfectly. As the film progresses, it loses any meaning. Only the action scenes are saved. By the way, the choreography of Halle Berry is quite disappointing
Movie from game streaming serie "Let's play"
This is "Let's Play John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum" action (TPS?) game.
I didn't like it. Cartoonsy, bad special effects, weird character interaction, unbelievable plot. I can suspend my disbelief but this film did not manage to capture me at all.

That was terrible. I loved the first two John Wick movies, this was dreadful, 2.5 hours of my life I’ll never get back. Little story, no character development, little dialogue, just endless drawn out action scene after action scene with the baddies attacking one after another displaying an intelligence equivalent to ZX Spectrum 1980s baddies. Don’t watch this. It’s terrible
I don't know why I bothered as I haven't enjoyed any of the other wickian adventures.
The most boring of them all so far. Just an endless stream of fights and gunfights. Not sure what the acting or story was like, I never saw any. John Wick 4 - Hard pass for me.
It left wondering if I watched a movie or a twitch cast of some one playing in high def a first person shooter game.
Wow so many great comments and ratings. for what ? absolutely nothing.
2.30 hours !!!! 2.30 hours of just fighting, almost zero nonsense talking and script and nothing made sense or interested about. Especially the last fight sequence in the Hotel that was so boring.
I remember liking the first one (cannot remember the scond one) but this was rubbish of action and nothing else. I have the 4 also but not going to waste 2.40 minutes of my life!
Not sure why this franchise gets so much hype.
This particular installment has nothing that makes me go: wow, great action movie.
That's not because there's no action in it. Quite the opposite, yet the action is just dumb.
The dialogues are stupid. There's basically no story whatsoever, no plot other than "John Wick survives the most absurd stuff".
It's very often quite absurd without being selfaware - with a few exceptions, like the opening knife fight. That was entertaining in its hilarious absurdity. That was the only thing entertaining, though.
Fight choreographies are ridicolous overall. You can see the "enemy" actors holding their position, arms, legs, ect. for Keanu to do his part instead of reacting to the actual fight. Most of the time they are simply way too passive.
Maybe that's more of an issue with the cut, though.
Weapons are conveniently unlimited ammo when (film)shots need it, while in other situations Wick loads for example a shotgun with two round but can fire like 5-7 times. Overly brutal killings of enemies with headshots when they are already down. Usually with surprisingly atrocius CGI gunfire. The opening knife fight? CGI and gummy knives everywhere.
This movie is just more of the same without any merits. It goes the same direction as the Underworld franchise.
Just that this movie is quite nonsenical all around in addition. And for what? A fourth installment, of course!
The only good thing for the 4th movie is Wick working with King to bring down this assassin's guild as it seems. That seems to be at least some plot to be had in the future.
Waste of f* time. 7 big battles each 10mins. You knife him to neck 3times, then undercut his throat, then 3 bullets in the head and still not dead??? Sorry, bro. She shot him into face 3 times, then she is suprised, she is low with bullets in magazine and then she shot 30 times w/ regular gun? :D No no no.. As bad as Equalizer 2. True story.
less speaking, less cars, more fighting!
That's called "Action Redefined" which the John Wick franchise has achieved.
If you’re looking to be mindless and suspend all belief and watch action sequence after another after another with no reasonable plot or acting to ground it, then this is the sequel for you. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it. But it needed a twist to make us believe killing all these people would eventually lead to something, instead the movie ended where it started. It all seemed pretty pointless and an opportunity for more sequels to make more money.
In 2014, the action film John Wick was released to little fanfare but quickly became a cult hit thanks to its intense action and entertainment value. After three years, the sequel John Wick Chapter 2 was released and once again impressed audiences. Now, Keanu Reeves returns as the titular character in John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum. With a huge bounty on his head, John Wick is on the run from the High Table and its associates.
As expected, Parabellum delivers nonstop action from beginning to end. The fight choreography is top-notch and the inventive camera work keeps the action visually exciting. However, the sense of familiarity starts to set in as the movie progresses and the midsection drags. The idea that John Wick is indestructible begins to wear thin by the end.
Keanu Reeves is once again convincing as John Wick and Halle Berry has an entertaining cameo. The gritty, noir aesthetic of the film and the soundtrack by Tyler Bates are both highlights. However, the writing feels like it has widened the lore too much and this takes away from the intensity of the previous films. While it's still an enjoyable action-packed film, it doesn't quite reach the heights of the previous John Wick films. Despite this, John Wick on a horse is still pretty cool.

Firstly I do have to say how does this film get so much love out in the world? Is it because the genuine nice chap Keanu Reeves is in it? It mystifies me.
I don’t like action films. So when I saw the first John Wick I was amazed I liked it so much, it was action-packed but John Wick was just good at his job but got hurt and if he had a weapon he used it and though patently daft it was not that daft. It was certainly entertaining and different enough for me to enjoy it.
Then we got John Wick 2 (QPR 3) which was ‘quantum baby’. It was ‘very silly baby’ if I’m honest, The preposterousness of it was cranked up to 11 and it was beginning to look like a superhero film rather than a tough assassin gig. A bulletproof jacket, more baddies CGIing to death, in fact more deaths than World War 2 it seemed. It wasn’t good.
Now we get the last-minute equaliser, John Wick 3 (QPR 3) and if you are a football fan it felt exactly like a last-minute equaliser, upsetting and putting a downer on your day.
In what seems almost a parody we get nearly everyone in world being a member of the assassin’s guild, except how did they get to be the these assassins as they are all to a man and women completely crap at killing people. I mean really bad. None of them can kill John Wick, he’s only one man and most of the time he has little in his armoury and is wounded. Then again John is indestructible as shooting him, stabbing him, throwing him into walls or through glass hardly breaks his stride. Even running him over has no effect. It’s is silly but in fact, in reality, it is pathetic, Is it a kid's film/story? I sincerely hope not because more people die anonymously and willingly too (they are after all working for the ‘Guild’) than have done in any film I think I’ve ever seen.
There is barely a story but mainly loads of excuses for action set pieces which after the first one you’ve seen them all and tend to blend into the same thing. It is truly tedious – and it does not need to be as the first film ably proved.
The film reminded me of watching a video game walkthrough with actors cameoing their way through cut-scenes. I like video games, they generally do not make good films, with a few exceptions. Some of the next ‘baddies’ for John Wick seemed all too reminiscent of next level bosses it was that poor.
I know being green is an admirable and sensible thing in the world today but did the makers of John Wick 3 need to recycle so many set-pieces and action farts? There is a feeling that the ideas well is running dry.
A lot of the acting is a risible with Halle Berry clearly feeling that that next Raspberry could be hers, either that or she just could not be bothered. Jerome Flynn, why is he in this? The boss of the Guild pointlessly lives in the middle of a desert, I could not figure out why he was boss of the Guild it does not even make sense if you run it by your brain for a few scant seconds.
John Wick 3 might appeal to action junkies who are not worried about story or realism but I feel even some of these people might get quickly bored and frustrated.
For me John Wick 3 is where this little foray into killing scores of people for no real reason should end. I feel there will be many more victims in the near future. Mind you why would you work for the Guild? If the John Wick franchise is anything to go by you are definitely going to die and not necessarily in a quick or pleasant way.
Guess what? I did not like John Wick 3 in any way shape or form.
This was a total waste of 2 hours of my life, F**king awful is the only way to describe it
"are you pissed, John??".
"yeah".
Couldn't think of a better ending for this one.
I really loved the first John Wick film. I thought the second one was good. I liked this part too, but at this point mainly just because it's Keanu starring as John ...
The cinematography keeps being amazing, the action great, the cast, fantastic, the assassins keep assassinating.
This series just keeps giving and giving, doesn't it.
"art is pain, life is suffering" ... yeah, that's exactly what ballet instructors would say. I'd like him to shoot her in the head just for that thanks
Also, more puppers! What a perfect way of applying Malles in an actual setting on screen. We should get more of this perfection. Simply beautiful. And love how she gives the dogs almost all the water in the desert :grimacing: Sofia and John must be soulmates but I guess he fucked up somewhere in the past.
I find all their rituals quite interesting. I don't mind at all that they're not really being explained. But now I'd wish they'd put someone with a lost finger into one of the previous parts. Maybe they have and I didn't notice then. Should rewatch. Wondering how many rings he's collected. Wouldn't think that many had to go to such lengths, but since there's a ritual for that, there must have been.
RE motorcycle chase... why go for the rider when you can go for the ride instead? Should be more effective.
[Amazon] The John Wick saga goes to the extreme. It is difficult to find an argument among so many action scenes. There are more kicks than words. That's fine. Some locations (the glass building) are spectacular. Some fight sequences are astonishing. Other action sequences (Morocco) are video game fireworks.
Mark Dacascos from the bloodthirsty assassin to fanboy in 3 seconds. cracked me up :joy:
Reference to Matrix, hilarious.
A movie which is loaded with action but very weak storyline i guess. There was lots of action and very little climax or twist in plot in this movie. Towards the end the action also becomes boring because you know jon is going to win everytime.
I NOMINATE THE ACTION N THIS MOVIE 4 THE OSCAR... keanu's alright 2 i guess.
In my opinion the second movie was the best.
John3Wick is a long and pointless film where unstoppable man kills a lot of people then has doubts if he can kill even more for a brief moment until he kills a lot more...

Despite still finding the runtime excessive, "Parabellum" at least maintains a brisker pace compared to the second film, with a better alternation of overchoreographed action sequences and pointless plot moments. The characters of the High Table are becoming increasingly cartoony, yet, given the overall atmosphere of the production, I wouldn't consider this a flaw.
The only true issue lies in the chunk dedicated to the katana-wielding sushi guys, both due to the poorly executed comedic bits and the lack of charisma in their leader. Particularly, I found the last two final battles to be somewhat lackluster and repetitive, in contrast to the tight sequences in other phases of the film.
