A good horror movie, plagued with bad acting here and there. Especially the police officers were horrible. Still, it kept me intrigued and interested in what's really happening. Worth a watch.
The ending was quite a surprise, can't remember the last time I was not able to predict where the story is going. Big thumbs up for that.
Disappointing, overrated movie. Some points didn't make sense (horror movies sometimes don't have to be logical, but they gave it a reason rather than being such a monster) such as how he spoke in the radio while she was with them! Why didn't she go to a doctor for her bleeding head! 5/10
meh, I couldn't finish watching it. rolled my eyes for half of it and finally asked myself, why bother?
People still complain that there are no more original horror movies while this exists?????

This failed as a horror movie for me because I never felt scared--or even tense--but I completely enjoyed myself with this movie. The (I'm assuming) intentional campiness might be too much for some, but Wan's visual style is irresistible.
Some quick thoughts:
-Terrence Malick is gonna love this movie
-I know damn well that NO ONE would EVER park their car that close to the edge of a cliff
-Shame they didn't even try to explain the electricity stuff (if they did, I missed it)
-Guns are completely useless in this movie. Two chairs do more damage in one scene than an entire police station's worth of ammo
-I liked the score, but it never felt like it fit what was happening on screen, & a lot of the jump scare musical stings seemed to be offbeat
-"Why am I calling the police?" was my favorite line lol
-A certain scene in which a certain door is pulled closed reminded me of another certain scene in another certain movie from a certain director in which a certain door is pulled closed
I don't rate movies, but I would gladly watch this again (just not when I want to be scared)
