Othello 1951

I believe for every filmmaker who tends to enter the realm of Shakespeare to understand that Shakespeare will be there like the ghost in hamlet, lurking in backstage to witness what's the filmmaker is going to do with his fable and by a different medium.
Olivier understood that and so did Orson Welles, Mr Welles prepared the audience for 8 minutes for his close up to meet Othello.
Mr Welles knew how to tell a story with moving pictures.

I am not the biggest fan of Shakespeare and the kind of dialogue. The plot is preditable for a modern audience but the direction and the acting is really fun to watch.
Too bad my DVDs sound is so bad. The visuals were good but the sound was sometimes so bad I could barely understand what they were saying. Maybe digital releases are better. Seek out theses ones if you want to watch this movie.
