The 2013 version of TSPDT’s 1,000 Greatest Films is finally here. After months of stop-start, data-building and unhealthy calculation antics, the latest group of 1,000 movie offerings has been assembled once again for your pleasure (or displeasure). Depending on your observation skills, you may have already noticed that there is a new presentation for this ongoing project.

In case you need some ideas for a movie night. Or just something really stupid/amazing/both to watch. All sorts of genres represented here, but with a skew toward action/horror/sci-fi and some comedy.

Note: This isn't strictly BAD movies, there are some (underappreciated) greats in here, or maybe just some movies you might have forgotten about. At the very least they're all interesting.

It contains a selection of 1000 reviews that have been printed in The New York Times in a time period of over seven decades. The majority of movies in this book are among the "10 Best Films" chosen by New York Times critics at the end of each year.

TCM Underground is a weekly late-night cult film showcase airing on Turner Classic Movies. Developed by former TCM marketing director Eric Weber, it was originally hosted by industrial rock/heavy metal musician and independent filmmaker Rob Zombie. The movies were programmed by Eric Weber until 2007, when TCM programmer Millie De Chirico took over the role.

This list is the result of heated debate/scuffles between the frazzled writers of Total Sci-Fi. In addition to settling on the titles themselves, they also had to set the limits of what counts as a 'sci-fi film': they decided that superhero movies were out as that's a distinct genre all of its own, but comedies like Sleeper and Galaxy Quest possess enough genuine science fiction concepts to warrant inclusion, leading to this list of the 100 best Sci-Fi movies of all-time.
