This is a truly dreadful movie, completely spoilt by the writing, of characters acting illogically in their circumstances all the time.
You would expect from The Daily Wire some kind of right wing agenda driven nonsense but the religious people were the antagonists here. Weird flex but decent flick
I really wanted to like this. Carano, Cerrone & Searcy are fine w the latter the best of the entire movie. It's just strangely constructed. Some awful writing/character choices that feel like you're watching a bad edit at times took me out of it in several scenes. There's no soundtrack to speak of until the end of the movie which I noticed especially during part of the climax. That doesn't have to be a negative, but it was necessary to help build some tension and was sorely lacking here. 4.4 for me. Wish I could go higher, but cannot.
Good independent western film outside of the Hollywood world.
Acting is a little bit iffy sometimes especially from Carano
The one thing that annoyed me:
The door to the cabin. It opens towards the outside in several scenes before she decides to barricade it... Which as you might expect is pointless for a pull door. The crooks even try to kick it in even though all they need to do is pull it open.
Knowing that there's some other stuff that doesn't really make sense when you think of it but I guess that can be forgiven by believing the characters have a certain code. Whether or not that could would - in reality - hold up back in those days I'm not quite sure of.
Maybe that's a good analogy of the movie:
this film is like the open door, if only they had locked things down a little better they didn't have to run around the cabin (beat around the bush) that much.
This was a lot better than I expected it. 7/10

Nothing spectacular but a good watch nonetheless. More violent than I expected but otherwise a wholesome movie.
