Eddie really has been in a load of turkeys. What a mess
Why did I like this as a kid? I can’t figure it out because it was a bore as an adult. The dialogue was bad, plot was dull but the end villain was cheesy fun for a moment.
Eddie Murphy and some incredible gags make it believable and funny.
This another movie that certainly seems a lot worse rewatching it after a long time. Like its ok but the main villain is practically thrown away at the end as if they didn't know what to do.
Eddie Murphy is off on a wild and magical adventure in The Golden Child. The story follows an investigator who's recruited to find the Golden Child, a little boy with magical abilities who's been kidnapped by an agent of evil that plans to kill him. The plot’s rather weak and is poorly told. And, the special effects are awful (even for the ‘80s). Additionally, Murphy doesn’t seem right for the role; as he puts too much comedy into his performance. Still, The Golden Child is a fun adventure at times and delivers some laughs.
I re-watched this one again after re-watching Big Trouble in Little China last week. All I could think of is this bad movie made lots of money and that great movie made almost none. Shocking. 4/10

Eddie Murphy at its peak. "I I I I I I WANT THE KNIFE". Charles Dance is the bad again and I still entertaining
