The Greatest Showman 2017

This was, to be honest, the best musical I've seen since I was a kid and I was watching High School Musical. Just amazing and too complicate to review more than this. I love it.

I originally rated this as "Fair (6)" but as I've watched it more since buying it on digital (my kids have it on OVER AND OVER), this movie has REALLY grown on me as I've discovered its layers on repeated viewings.

It's a GREAT family movie with catchy, enjoyable songs, a good message, terrific pacing, beautiful people, emotion, drama, humor, great cinematography and some incredible voices! Loved all the casting choices. Rebecca Ferguson has never been more beautiful and (even though she didn't ACTUALLY sing her song), she acted the h*** out of that on-stage performance.

Sure, it's not historically accurate--but it's not made as a biography. It's a legend, if anything. So once you can enjoy it the way a child would enjoy it, it's almost magical.

As P.T. Barnum himself said to the joyless critic in the movie, "The smiles on the peoples' faces as they leave are real."

Such good film and very inspiring. Minus point because you can already expect what will happen in the story.

The late, great comedian Patrice O'Neil used to say that he wished that he knew how to watch a film before he started watching the film. I think about this now and then when I watch a movie. In my head I am an armchair director and I want to take in the whole film. At times it really robs me of the enjoyment that I otherwise might have had.

I think that this film is a great example of me over-thinking. I probably spent half the film trying to figure out where they were going and if all of the events were true and.... stuff. And then I finally realized that the film wasn't so much about Barnum the man as it was about how so many of us struggle to escape our lot in life. It felt very much like a mix between Les Miserables and Rent. It might not be the best film ever made but by the end I was smiling and I felt like the whole experience was worthwhile.

This was hands down my favourite film ever. I loved every single second of it, the sheer joy of watching it was next to nothing else. Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams the songs, the costumes, the dances, the sets. Absolutely incredible.

I love musicals in general, and this was definitely one of the bests I've ever seen. Absolutely fascinating movie with incredible songs, a powerful story and great acting. It's meant for the big screen. This movie is magic.

I usually go for other types of movies but this was AMAZING! I've seen Les Miserables where Hugh Jackman was, again, mind blowing. Keala Settle, her voice, WOW <3

Honestly, I felt that the story line is meh but the songs are what took me by surprise. It's really rare to to have more than one great hit in a musical and almost all the songs in this show is amazing! I'm also very impressed with Hugh Jackman's singing. Finally, the shed his operatic voice and did these songs justice by singing more contemporarily. Great job!

I expected more from this film. In my opinion the dialogue it's too simple and not very original. It is true there are two good songs, like "This is me", but the rest of them are not really memorable (Not like the songs from Lalaland that you could not avoid singing once you have whatched the film). In conclusion, It's an entertaining film to go watch with your familiy or friends but not The Musical of the year I was expecting to watch.

I´m not gay enough to enjoy so many musical numbers in such a short time

A fantastic musical that should have been a theatrical production, before being made into a movie. This movie gives us outstanding performances by Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, Keala Settle and Zendaya, however, the stiffness of the camera and the blatant use of CGI in some of the scenes hurts the movie a bit. Regarding the Music and the score, this is ceartain to have some serious nominations (and maybe wins) in the most important awards ceremonies, the musical numbers are amazing, even though, in my opinion, the option to dub Rebecca Ferguson's performance of Never Enough ended up hurting an otherwise perfect song!

I've never been a musical fan until La La Land. So I thought maybe I should give all new musicals a shot but I think I've been spoiled by just how great La La Land is. This is a decent film. Some of the songs were great and some were just ok. Hugh Jackman was good. Worth a watch if you want to see some singing and dancing.
