Mockingjay Part 2 is a satisfying, explosive, and well executed end to the Hunger Games franchise, not as exciting perhaps as Catching Fire, but more politically charged.

Mockingjay Part 2's biggest mistake is being completely faithful to the book, considering that it is the worst one of the trilogy. They had the chance to make the story better but chose to stick to what they had. Being the final chapter of the story, it has emotional bits, but miserably (and unfortunately) fails to sell them, rushing the scenes which we were supposed to remember the most. However, its political and action turmoils are its best parts and were beautifully developed. After all, piecing the four movies together, it remains a good story.

The first one was good, the second one was pretty great, the third one was decent enough - the finale was just a disaster. Much of that is down to Katniss just being a terrible character - maybe a more capable actress could have made her more relatable -, the rest mostly to the drawn-out and plain unsatisfying nature of the film and plenty of potential that is never achieved.

I watch a lot of movies and this one is one of the worst I've ever seen. It's like a bunch of random scenes put together to attempt to make some sort of a story line. The dialogue was terrible. The ending, terrible. It was boring and WAY too long. Save yourself 2.5 hrs by not watching this feces of a movie.

loading replies

Incredibly boring. Even the little action we had in-between all that bland emotional drama and the ridiculous love triangle. And I'm still laughing at the ridiculousness of Snow's followers turning on him after some child murder considering they've been killing children for their entertainment for many years. (And don't fucking tell me it was to ration the food, the rich folk's been literally eating to threw it all back up and they were definitely enjoying the show of kids butchering each other). But what is crazier? That or the idea to organise another instance of hunger games? Give me a fucking break... And of course after the war was over Katniss put down her bow and decided to procreate. I watched this shit just to finish this incredibly disappointing franchise and be done with it.

Top marks for the special effects. I heaven't read the books but I do find the storyline confusing... I didn't understand the events of the ceremony at the end. Truthfully I only watched this because I had seen the others in the series but I'm left wishing I hadn't started. My personal grade of 6/10 is a reflection of the special effects rather than any other aspect of the film

It's slightly better than the first part. I didn't like how major scenes are rushed (the death of important characters) because it lacks emotion. We don't have the time to realize what happened, it's too fast and we didn't spend enough time with these characters throughout the movies to really care about their deaths. The ending is okay and bittersweet mirroring the state of this post-apocalyptic world.

loading replies

a greedy stretching-out of a story into 2 of the dullest movies ever, following-up on 2 good movies.

loading replies

I rate it "can Finnick mock my Jay?" out of ten

loading replies

6.5/10 - RIP Primrose. Her death really sucked and makes me angry. Sure, that's what it's intended for but I'm more angry/annoyed by the writers as I find it too dark. The last three of the movies developed Prim as such a nice, kind, and smart character just to sacrifice herself at the very end for the story. And it makes everything feel quite meaningless as it feels like all of Katniss' efforts were for nothing. That's definitely not true and Prim's death probably wasn't for nothing as Katniss probably only shot President Coin due to it but it still feels like it as everything started with Katniss volunteering for Prim to save her life.

So yeah, it's powerful and emotional but it's also super dark... :o

And RIP Boggs. That man died a real hero! I liked his character from the beginning but he really got on another level in his final moments. He really did care about everything and especially Katniss.

I personally feel like the movies slowly got less and less exciting with each new release. I watched all four of them in the span of one week, I never read the books, but it just seems like the story kind of stretches beyond the point where I really needed to see it go. If anything I think the last two movies would've served better combined and with an hour or so shaved off as it starts getting slightly redundant, but still a good movie series that I enjoyed watching.

loading replies

That was a lot better than I remembered. Actually a fun watch.

loading replies

I don't know, It was kinda boring.

loading replies

i enjoyed much more the other ones... but this being the end of the story i suppose we shouldnt be expecting much more than this.

ahhh it was a weak end.

loading replies

It could have been better and the final part is a little disappointing. I kinda expected more.

loading replies

Soooo booorrrriiinnng. Lost 2 hours of my life...

loading replies

It was completely faithful to the book which is good sometimes.. in this case I would've liked to see more development in the end not so rushed, but well, it was written on the book in this way.. Amazing acting, effects and a lot of action just like the book described! Not disappointed. Overall, a good ending to this amazing saga!

The last instalment in the franchise. This time Katniss and her buddies try to topple the creatively titled capital city, The Capitol.

The previous film in the series struggled to really get off the ground, there’s no such trouble here as we follow the rebels through the stages of mounting an assault. Katniss finally has a bit of purpose and the pacing of the story gets back on track. She gets to go from ISIS recruiter to combatant.

However, Part 2 holds no surprises in store, which is a shame. It’s well made and of course there are some strong performances, but the final pay off is weak and predictable.

If you haven’t already called time on the franchise there might be something for you in this. For the rest of us, this film winds up a story in an orderly but boring fashion. Far from diabolical, but it comes nowhere near to cashing in on the potential we saw in the first and second films.

Listening to the audio book of Mockingjay; I felt depressed and disturbed as hell lol. The movie however I loved. Maybe since I knew all the morbid details already.
Still; I found the movie engaging as well as moving more than depressing unlike the book. The film version I think is actually more satisfying.
Since I would actually recommend this to the fans who found the last book disappointing or just too damn sad!

Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 proves they saved the best for last. It’s a stellar addition to the series, providing plenty of entertainment and closure. The film provides the best action and effects of the entire series, making it my personal favorite of the entire franchise. A thrilling and satisfying conclusion to the saga.

loading replies

Part 1 and 2 would have been perfect if it was just the one movie and around 3hrs. Both parts felt over stretched. The ending in this was way too long but totally satisfied with the conclusion. Despite it feeling long at times I was still engaged and enjoying the group journey to the Capital.
The Overall series was really good and consistent with the storyline. Obviously if you had read the books your experience would be different.

loading replies

As good as this series is overall, I feel like it really flubs the ending. The ending is just completely unsatisfying imo.

loading replies

As with the first part of the finale of the "Hunger Games" movies, you realize pretty quickly that the decision to make a two-parter out of the story wasn't the best idea. "Part 1" was still distinguished by an interesting story approach in which Katniss is used as a propaganda toy. A resolution, however, was lacking. In "Part 2," there is much more action, and the whole plot comes to a quite satisfying conclusion. However, the finale drags quite a bit, especially when the action shifts to the underground. I was also a bit annoyed by Julianne Moore's character, which is really laughably one-dimensional. The epilogue could have been left out as well; it fulfills a cliché that I just don't want to see in this kind of movie anymore. Nevertheless, "Mockingjay 2" still has some great moments, so overall, I'm satisfied with the film series as a whole.

loading replies

This gives us the climax to the build-up of the previous installment, but still doesn’t recapture the suspense or intrigue of the first two movies.

The plotline where our sweet and obsessed boy Peeta suddenly goes insane and hates Katniss for a while still feels like an unnecessarily personal attack to my happiness:sob:
Their happy ending made the pain all worth it though! I feel like they needed to go through all of this for Katniss to realise how pure Peeta is and how much she needs and wants that in her life <3

However, Finnick dying the way he did will forever be my villain origin story.

P.S. Katniss continually thinking she can fix everyone with the magical healing powers of her kiss will never stop being funny to me. I crack up each time I think about it.

How did katniss know how to work the holo and turn it on if only the 1 specific person with high level clearance is able to operate it and hold it the entire time

This film should definitely earn some credit for management to delicately balancing giving this film series both a realistic and a satisfying ending. The romantic subplot certainly is distracting this time around, perhaps moreso here than in the other films. Still, some exciting acting sequences, well-timed plot twists do a fine job of distracting the viewer from some of the weaker aspects of the film, like the Capitol's ineptitude.

Oh, and the ending is long. Satisfying, but looooooooooooong.

A brilliant and epic conclusion to the Hunger Games saga. I just love this movie so much. It‘s action-packed, has amazing characters and a very good ending to the story. Jennifer Lawrence is so brilliant in the role of Katniss and I also especially like Julianne Moore as President Coin.

loading replies

Good ending to the series, though introducing a new villain in the last 40 minutes felt a bit rushed

loading replies

This movie was a pretty decent finale, I just don't think the ending where we're shown Katniss and Peeta as parents was entirely necessary but apart from that I actually quite enjoyed this.

loading replies

A good ending to the series.

loading replies

The second best movie of the franchise right behind catching fire, but overall this franchised sucked

loading replies

4,5/10

Mockingjay Part 2 is better than the second and third film in The Hunger Games Series but in the end the quality of the franchise decreased significantly after the first film

loading replies

It's been a while since I've seen the previous movies, so, there was a lot in this I didn't quite understand. Therefore, I feel unqualified to give this a score; Lord willing, at some point, I'll watch the entire quadrilogy from beginning to end so I can understand this better.

loading replies

For me this is the weakest part of the series. The ending is clear and the flick never does it get very thrilling. Its also not boring and all in all a decent action flick with only few mediocre parts. However, I think a lot of potential was wasted here.
So my final verdict: you probably have to watch it as part of the series but do not expect too much!

-You love me, real or not real?
-Real.

It was a good movie, I liked the action but...

I thought the ending was just toooooo happy. I just didn't feel it. Katniss never seemed like the type of person who would end up that happy with kids and everything. No. I personally would have written it so that both Katniss and Peeta would take that killpill, it would be poetic since they both wanted to do that in the first Hunger Games.

Enfim... Final fraco!

I thought it was really nice. The time went by really quickly. In my opinion, it's as good as the first film of these series.

Hunger Games 2012 was a 10. Catching fire was a 9. Mockingjay part 1 was a 8. Mockingjay part 2, I give it a 7. Lucky it has ended now.

Liked this one! This film featured some of the best acting of the series by Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth. I love the realistic development of Katniss' character- amazing acting - though Jennifer is not your typical uncanny beauty super action hero, she delivered great in my opinion by steping on the same level as the audience. We can relate to her and her feelings. Well done, and yea - this franchise is better than Harry Potter ;)

loading replies

The division of the last book adaptation in 2 parts was unnecessary. The film was beautifully made, but looks like they're pushing the plot and the inevitable end of the series for too long. Overall it's a great movie that explores the political issues of Panem with the unfolding of the series.

I expected this to be way more emotional but they rushed the key scenes and that ruined it. The last scene was good though. It could have been a lot better. Defo the worst of the series.

Ends Katniss vs Snow. Is it all to win the war? allways win who is in the power in the shade?

loading replies

Though the acting is well done, I found that it lacked believably. The action was the only thing that really moved the story forward, rather than any kind of depth of dialog between the characters. I felt the same way about the first one. It was also highly predictable. At least with the first two I was not able to see the ending until I was actually watching it unfold.
