Sophia Loren was impecable but the rest fail to make us emphatize with the story and characters, the bond between Madame Rosa and Momo wasn't as strong as I would wish, worth watching only because of her otherwise a big meh!
[Netflix] There is a power of seduction in that face marked by the traces of time that Sophia Loren shows that everything that happens around her does not matter. As with Simone Signoret in "La vie devant soi" (1977), Madame Rosa steals all the limelight. Less profound than that one, this new version of Edoardo Ponti lacks depth and strength, despite the fact that the boy Ibrahima Gueye also transmits emotions.
Subtract Sophia Loren from the movie is a very ordinary movie.

Sophia Loren is great as always, but it’s the young chap playing Momo who is the real revelation here. He displays genuine emotion in his role and carries the film through the occasional lull.
