I often criticise all these remakes of movies and the lack of originality of the studios, specially hollywood and the Hindi film industry. We jus have to many of them and rarely they have any substance. But there are some exceptions which are actually good or at least good enough imo. Some films are rather inspired by than full-on remakes, I'll put them on here aswell.

Also adding the originals and sorting them before the remakes.

I recommend watching mostly the originals first.

This list is still by far not finished..

Sometimes American studios set out to cash in on the popularity of a non-American film and end up making a watered down zombie shell of the original. Maybe they rush it, maybe they don't understand what made the original great, maybe they underestimate the American Public's ability to enjoy films that aren't spoon fed to them. There are some remakes that are very good and well worth watching. Here's a list of some of them.
