Thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Lived up to all the hype. One of the best films of the year.
Great movie, great actors, loved the disco music! But I was left with so many questions about the space that were explained in the book so I'll definitely read the it when/if I get the chance.

What a disappointment. Really poor and weak comedy film, i did not laugh at all, well yes I did when I watched the final scene where Matt Damon is being saved using a very unrealistic way ("Ironman") to reach Melissa. I could not believe what I was watching and it made me laugh, but not in the good terms. There were some moments I though I was watching a movie for kids. There's no suspense or intrigue 'cause you know during the whole movie that everything is gonna be alright.
I really can not understand why people rate this movie so high. It is one of the most overrrated films I've ever seen lately.

Simply LOVED this movie, the humor the drama the story...Great acting, the small jokes especially the project Elrond one and letting Sean Bean explain it..EPIC! Also one of the few movies that Sean Bean doesn't die in!

Brilliant, I loved every minute, the only criticism, I thought the suspense could have been built a bit bigger, as I always had the feeling all would be well in the end.
I read the book and then went in to watch the movie. I'd recommend doing the same. If you don't like reading, just watch the movie! It is great!

Bütün bir kitabı detayları ile birlikte 2 saate sığdırmak çok zor olacağından ve Hollywood etsini kaybetmeden izleyiciyi sıkmamak adına yapılan bu değişiklikleri makul karşıladım açıkçası. Genel anlamda izlemesi keyifliydi.. Kitaptaki karakterleri canlı olarak izlemek değişik. Bu arada karakterler çok yerinde seçilmiş bence.

I really enjoyed this movie. It wasn't the best movie of the year but overall amusing. Matt Damon carried this movie mostly with his performance and the humor his character brought to the plot. Without the humor and all the disco music it would've probably been a boring movie but all together it was really nice. Lovely cast too.
Really enjoyed the movie, but it almost felt like an Apollo 13 remake. Still very entertaining, with laughs and some feels. I gave it 8 on the heart-o-meter.
A good one-watch movie. Funny, lots of science porn, lots of seat edge. I especially liked Donald Glover's character, although he didn't get enough screen time. Sure, some of it is a bit unrealistic, but overall it's worlds ahead of Interstellar on that front - nothing supernatural happens because it doesn't need to! Damon does a great job - it's easy to put yourself in his shoes (boots?).

I've just rewatched this as I received Andy Weir's book as a Christmas gift so I really had to see this masterpiece of a movie for the second time around (which I must say I've enjoyed even more than the first one).
Let me tell you from the getgo to pick up the novel. It's got all the anwsers to all the question you might have and it's written as a (surprise surprise) personal log by Mark Watney.
Matt Damon does a great job, as does Sir Ridley Scott. Really no objections as to the cinematic endeavour. As for the science, maybe it's far fetched, maybe it's not, others (far more qualified than me) have speculated on the matter so look into it for yourself. Either way, it doesn't bother me and the movie experience is unencumbered by this aspect so I strongly strongly recommend you watch this amazing piece. Enjoy
Wow what a beautiful movie. I got teary eyed at the end. Seriously a must see film. I debated whether or not to go see this movie as I thought it was going to be a bore fest, but it was amazing! Glad I watched it.

Science-fiction genre? Matt Damon? I didn't have high expectations before I watched this yesterday but I was pleasantly surprised! You can't help but enjoy Mark Watney and his positive attitude toward his survival. It really was Watney's optimistic point of view that kept me before the screen. There's also some nice comedy here and there that made me laugh. Also I think that Matt Damon acting was superb in this one. To sum it up: I have nothing bad to say about this movie - it's the best film I've seen all year.

Celebrating the human will to survive and come together to achieve a common goal, this comes across very much like a futuristic Apollo 13. Despite all the potential for effects work and wonderful visuals that Scott is know for, what is surprising is how focused the script is on developing the characters and ensuring the audience is fully invested both in Damon's struggles and the team back home trying to save him. There is a surprising amount of humour here that ensures the characters are likeable but Scott never forgets to illustrate the human moments amid the spectacle such as Damon's first conversation with NASA or Chastain's realisation that Damon is still alive and stranded. Refreshingly there is no 'villain' or 'human obstacle' to get in the way - the filmmakers recognise there is inherently enough in the setup for the characters to overcome without introducing other elements that would cheapen the central themes of the film.

There are a few glaring plot holes, but considering the lack of decent sci-fi movies out there, it's difficult to nit pick. Matt Damon does a superb job, as always, and the writers did an excellent job of toning down Watney's super annoying narrative/character from the book (which I couldn't even finish reading it was so bad).

Thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The movie did justice to the book, but the book goes a lot deeper into the science which I adored. Matt Damon did a good job of personifying Mark Watney's character :) I laughed and I cried, perfect!

this is supposed to be horror dark movie about stranded astronaut on dune of mars desperately trying to survive while anxiously waiting for help, but why... why this movie is so light, fun and has so many comical tone and yet its a great movie... really defying any expectations..
