This is a list of movies made in France by release date which I've seen mostly on TV or on theaters when I was growing up. Some are masterpieces, some are mindless entertainment and everything in between, the point being all were enjoyable to me as a kid.

This list contains the favorite movies of movie critic Jonathan Rosenbaum who writes for the Chicago Reader. The movies span virtually every decade, and include many an obscure movie.
