Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen had well... fallen from its predecessor. Bay's signature action scenes are there but wasn't a great as those from the first film. Despite the subpar story line from the first film Revenge of the Fallen had a much poorer plot line. Also I couldn't stand the Autobot Twins, every time they were on the screen I would just want to fast forward through it. They annoyed me that much along with Sam's new college roommate which I think shouldn't have been in the film. This sequel to Transformers despite its flaws still was entertaining enough to keep my attention.

How can a movie with giant robots pretty girls explosions and state of the art effects be so utterly banal? So boring? I have no idea. Not kidding. This is one of the biggest yawners I have seen in years.

I'm scoring it a '2' because it appears that there was a lot of effort put into it by computer effects grunts.

Not as good as the first 2007 "Transformers" flick but still enjoyable! The main problem is the ridiculous propaganda for the US army A.K.A. the ending / showdown of the flick. It is nearly ruining the whole movie for me: Michael Bay overdoes it when trying to selling what a brilliant group of patriots and true heroes the US army soldiers are!

There is a Naruto poster in this movie.

Revenge of the Fallen is incredibly deranged in the most fascinating ways both behind the scenes and with the film itself while also being absolute dog shit, putting it in a rating limbo.

I just can't bring myself to enjoy watching giant animated robots fight each other for 2 1/2 hours. If they were fighting in a cool way, if they were doing impressive things, I might be able to get on board. But this is just endlessly boring.

Take away the noise and the fury, and this movie has nothing to offer, No character development. No meaningful human relationships. No content. It lost any of the charm of the first movie and left us waiting for the noise to stop. Its target audience has to be pubescent males for whom women are only a means to an end. Sad. So much money spent on stuff of no value. I give this film a 5 (meh) out of 10. [SciFi Action Adventure]

Great action and visual effects - everything else is dribble.

Transformers: The Return of Michael Bay is all action and no brains. Which can be said with all the sequels. The first is the best but all Bay has done is remake it with each sequel.
He takes something called Transformers too seriously and makes each film overdramatic and overstuffed. The movies are more loud than fun now.
This one isn’t as bad as critics said though. The 4th and 5th are worse.

7/10
Good
Better than the first
by a wide margin.
Bigger vfx, good locations
and the humour lands and
is much funnier.
the drama and steaks are
bigger too.
Same problem as before
With
The Godziller Syndrome
to much fcuking around
with the humans,
I ain't here for that
I'm here to see
Giant Robots kick
the crap out of each other.
I'm a simple man
with simple needs.

The second Transformers movie is even more shrill, loud, and over-the-top than its predecessor, and I hated almost every minute of it. The dialogue is awful; not a single joke hits home, and the entire setup is extremely tiring for the most part. The few female characters are even worse written than in the first film. Megan Fox is certainly not a good actress, but even she deserves better than being objectified. Meanwhile, looking at the two and a half hour runtime, it's clear that it's way too long again; Michael Bay just can't help himself. Despite the excessive length, he doesn't manage to tell even a remotely interesting story. And looking at the "artistic license" he takes with regard to the geographical conditions around the pyramids near Cairo, I can only shake my head. All in all, "Revenge of the Fallen" is really stupid crap, there's no way to sugarcoat that.

While not as good as the original, it still has its moments. It's a Michael Bay film with the usual special effects, explosions and action scenes that will satisfy fans of the franchise. The new additions to the Autobots and Decepticons bring fresh excitement to the series.

This is my 2nd time watching this movie- I actually feel like I enjoyed it more this time around than the first time because I picked up on more of the relationship development between the Sam and his gf, parents, and Optimus Prime. Other then that- the first half was kind of meh- a bit too long setting things up for the finale which was amazing.

Other then that I had a gripe with the dogpile of units and aircraft in the finale- Marines once landing off the beaches- then Army Bradley's and Abram's coming over hillsides from seemingly nowhere, then Air Force aircraft seemingly outta thin air.

One of my favorite franchises is getting a sequel this June, so I figure I would watch them all again. Don't you miss the old days when movies were full of action, bit of comedy, and didn't require a lot of thinking? When movies had 17 of the top 20 modern rock songs of that year. When Shia was a superstar? I know I do! Also Michael Bay is a way better director than Roland Emmerich by a longshot! At least when Bay made a movie about a beloved franchise he made it fun and not just completely changed everything like Roland did with Godzilla! Like Bay hasn't made a bad or even meh movie, at least from what I've seen so far. He's like a child in a man's body, which a lot of you might hate since you like movies that are like real life, boring and miserable.

Rainn Wilson! :blue_heart::blue_heart:

Revenge of the Fallen is so over the top that it borders on ridiculous, but...it's still enjoyable.

I enjoy this one just about the same as the first one, but for different reasons. It has lost little of the story and drive that made the first one good, but has exchanged it with upgraded visuals and of course, this being Michael Bay, bigger explosions and massive destruction.

It shows that Michael Bay had total control over this because of the WGA strike. You can hardly get more Michael Bay than Revenge of the Fallen. The thing is...Michael Bay never fails to create a spectacle that most people, that is the target audience of this movie in the first place, will love. Just because all the hip kids hate on Bay, doesn't mean he doesn't know his audience, and looking at the box office...he's not exactly failing, is he.

I'm not looking for a deep, logical story in those kind of movies. You have to know what to expect and in that regard they deliver.

BUT.....please, no more of those stupid jokes and those slapstick-like Transformers.
