The Orcs their world is dying so they have to go look for a new world to live in. They get called by a magic named the Fel and that’s how they find their new world. The first half of the Orcs goes through the portal and soon find out that their new world is already inhabited by the human race. The Fel is a dark magic that is slowly taking over all of the Orcs, and those Orcs want to kill all humans and take their world. Although some Orcs are still sane and they are out to try to find a way to live in peace among the humans.
I heard of the Warcraft games before, but never bought the games to actually play it. So I had sort of knew what this movie was about but I didn’t know as much details about the worlds and races as the people who actually played the game. So I’m speaking out of the perspective of someone who doesn’t know the “original” story.
I LOVED Warcraft! It was action filled and a great storyline. I really liked most of the characters and I’m very interested in getting to know more about them. Not only about their futures but about their history as well. Especially the Orcs. I now know why there are green and skin colored ones but I also want to know why Garona is an Orc but still looks so human in almost every aspect. Here is some praise for Paula Patton while I’m at it. I adored her, she played such a powerful character and she did great. Ben Foster was so so good as well, I really liked his character in the beginning but that soon enough turned around. They did a great job casting Ben Foster as Medivh, he's got a good face for it. Ben Schnetzer was kind of a new actor for me but I really liked his character and acting, I’m very excited to see more from him. I was a bit disappointed in Dominic Cooper, it wasn’t that is acting was horribly bad or something like that, I just found his character to be rather weak-ish.
The following text contains me screaming (aka aggressively typing) about the amount of love I feel towards Travis Fimmel. You can skip it if you want :-)

I JUST WANT TO SCREAM IN TRAVIS FIMMEL HIS FACE HOW MUCH I LOVE HIM AND HOW PROUD I AM. I DONT KNOW WHY AND IT DOESN’T MAKE MUCH SENSE BUT I'VE SEEN HIM DOING ALOT AND I'M SO HAPPY THAT HE GETS TO BE A FRONTMAN IN THIS MOVIE I KNOW THAT SOUNDS WEIRD BUT HE IS SO AMAZING AND I HAVE BEEN SUPPORTING HIM FOR QUITE A WHILE NOW AND I’M JUST SO HAPPY THAT HE GOT THIS PART AND IT’S JUST PERFECT. ALTHOUGH I SOMETIMES HEARD HIS INNER RAGNAR LOTHBROK COMING OUT HE STILL DID SO GOOD AND HE JUST DESERVES SO MUCH. THAT’S ALL.

I am fascinated by how much they can make with computers now, and it keep getting better and better. I talked about it in my review of Jungle Book but with this one again, it’s amazing and I can’t wait to find out what they will be able to build in the future.
I am very exited about Warcraft and how it will continue because I loved this one!
This film surprised me in a good way. I had absolutely NO IDEA what to expect from it. I never played the games and the trailer didn't exactly get me excited. But then I saw it and had to say, I really kind of liked it.
Granted, I couldn't understand half of the proper names they were saying (I really missed the subtitles I always use at home), but it was an original plot (to me) that every time I thought it was going to go one way... it didn't. That was refreshing.
The filmmakers have created some cool characters (though many gamers already recognized them) and inhabited a world I found interesting and would like to visit some more (in the movies... not the games).
The closest thing I can compare this to are the "Lord of the Rings" & "Hobbit" trilogies, but that's only because I've seen them most recently. But it's a bit different. The right and wrong are still fairly well-defined in this world of Warcraft (pun intended) but both sides have right & wrong.
I hope people give this movie a chance because it's worth a look. I'd like to see it again to see what I missed the first time through.
Orcs and humans try to find common ground, both on and off the battlefield, in this sweeping, large-scale attempt to bring Blizzard's best-selling video game to the big screen. The thing I appreciate most about this effort is its even-handedness. Unlike Lord of the Rings before it, there's an admirable amount of grey-shading on each side of the struggle and a very small number of both irredeemable and infallible characters. The menacing orcs, towering and tusk-mouthed, worry about their children and maintain honorable traditions within their own ranks. Their human counterparts show trepidation and uncertainty, nearly coming to blows as they debate their defense strategy behind closed doors. This makes the simmering war feel more two-sided and honest; no faceless horde of pitch-black bad guys here.
Unfortunately, that meditative tone never allows the plot to gain much steam amidst so much pontification. It's overstuffed with characters, bearing complicated names that might be familiar to fans but only blur together for the uninitiated. There's probably enough room for three or four really good character arcs, but instead the narration hops around to cover more than a dozen. The acting is stiff and wooden, whether provided by flesh-and-blood humans or fully-CG orcs, which probably has a lot to do with the abundance of stilted dialog.
In a lot of ways, it feels like the first disc of an overlong RPG. A whole lot of setup and world-building, a few mini-bosses and a surprise death or three, maybe a good teaser to keep us on the hook for the next chapter, but only the earliest hint of a resolution. Over-ambitious and flawed, it's an effective CG showpiece but far too slow, wordy and self-important for its own good.
If you are going to try Warcraft comes down to one question...
Have you played/been interested in the old Warcraft RTS series and World of Warcraft?
A yes would make the decision rather easy. You will most likely love this movie. I say most likely because there are differences between the established lore and what you get in this movie, but most may be able to look past that and just rejoice in the fact that you got Warcraft Orcs in a live action movie.
A no will probably make you rather disappointed. The movie seems more geared towards the fan of the game as it assumes that you have some previous knowledge of Warcraft lore before you can make sense of it. It makes some serious plot leaps and some weird cuts that I hope will be filled in with a special edition.
Now...did I like this movie?
Yes...I did, but that's only because I'm a long time player of not only the RTSs, but also World of Warcraft. I'm actually hoping for a sequel, but with the earnings of this one, it's not all that likely.
To summarize...If you like Warcraft and knows a bit about it. Go ahead...this is for you. If not...you might want to find something else to spend your money on.

Walking out of Warcraft, the overriding feeling is one of a missed opportunity - this is by no means a disaster and there is plenty of potential here. The scope of the film is impressive and it's clear there is a lot of world-building going on here for future sequels. Part of the problem, however, is there is simply too much plot going on with not enough time devoted to a central thread - the director's admission that some 40 minutes have been cut is not surprising. This is a film that has ambition to be an epic, with many threads introduced to carry over to potential future films and glimpses of many different settings in this new world, but consequently there is a rushed feel to the central plot of this film with not enough time devoted to developing the relationships and motivations of the central characters, Thus plot developments and twists whilst potentially interesting do not have the emotional impact desired making it difficult to really care about what happens. It is a shame because what there is here works surprisingly well - Jones' ambition is to ensure the audience is invested in both sides of the conflict rather than the obvious human side. Perhaps there may well be a future director's cut that restores some much needed character work and slows down the pace a little.
