Comedy films that sway outside the mainstream. Dark, strange, unusual, outright bizare and so bad they're good. I have also thrown in a couple of not so strange comedies from independent studios that deserve a mention. Adding more every day.
The Sundance Film Festival is a film festival that takes place annually in the state of Utah, in the United States. It is the largest independent cinema festival in the U.S. Held in January, the festival is the premier showcase for new work from American and international independent filmmakers. The festival comprises competitive sections for American and international dramatic and documentary films, both feature-length films and short films, and a group of non-competitive showcase sections.
Some may know them, some may not, this doesn't take away that fact they are slightly less mainstream than most and definitely deserve more recognition.
The culmination of the Sundance Film Festival is the Awards Ceremony. The competition juries, comprised of individuals from the worldwide film community with original and diverse points of view, select films from both the documentary and dramatic categories to receive a range of awards.
