The Simmo it's a massive place, and that's putting it lightly. While the main east-west crossing is still a challenging drive, these days it's a highway compared to the original crossing 50 years ago. If it's no-bull, honest, heart-in-mouth adventure you're after out of the Simmo, you've gotta look a bit further - like to the geographical centre of the desert.
Join Graham, Dave Cox from Mt Dare Station on the western side of the Simmo and Rob and Graham from Hema Maps as they push north-east from Dalhousie Springs in search of the exact centre of the Simmo. They'll be relying hard on their GPS tracks and maps to get there, because there's very little in the way of tracks and a whole heap of massive sand-dunes to conquer before they get there. Will they make it, or will they be forced to turn back? You know what you've gotta do to find out!
