In between, the unexpected encounter in a patio of Triana of the indomitable flamenco of Rosario La Tremendita with the libertine electronica of Bronquio. Also the history of flamenco rock with the testimony of the producer Ricardo Pachón and his more contemporary incarnation with Derby Motoreta's Burrito Kachimba. Ariel Rot will visit the legendary indie producer Paco Loco in his studio in El Puerto de Santa María, who will discover the robust rock of Furia Trinidad, and will even live a whole flamenco party with a lot of friends at the house of Tomasito in Jerez.
In the second episode of A Country to Listen to It, Ariel Rot does not move from Madrid, but he does undertake a journey inside his sound. Christina Rosenvinge, artist with ears always very open to the latest that is being forged in the capital, will guide you through the Madrid of 2019. From your hand, we will find the model of independent triumph of Vetusta Morla, the renewed song of the author of Zahara, La Bien Querida and Tulsa, the hip hop of Natos and Waor and the punk pop of Carolina Durante and Axolotes Mexicanos. Along with this, we will discover a much less known facet of Ariadna Paniagua (Los Punsetes). We will also witness the vision of the city of an illustrious new inhabitant, the British pianist and writer James Rhodes, and the crossfire between veteran rock travelers such as Los Coronas and Depedro. Even Ariel will have time to try guitars with his friend Leiva and meet again with other illustrious survivors of Madrid in the 70s and 80s: Los Secretos.
A COUNTRY TO HEAR IT rises from south to north in its third episode. Ariel Rot arrives now in Asturias to know its places and sounds by the hand of a rock myth like Jorge Martínez, leader of Ilegales. With him we will discover, on the slopes of the church of Santa María del Naranco, a man who has turned upside down Asturian folklore: Rodrigo Cuevas. And, in the same city, a woman who has more or less done the same without pretending: Lorena Álvarez.
We will meet at the Niemeyer Center of Avilés with the most important figure that popular Asturian music has given, Víctor Manuel. The veteran singer-songwriter will remember part of his career and introduce us to a new figure of the traditional tune, Marisa Valle Roso. And in Gijón, we will attend the restless indie rock drive that the city has always developed. You could not miss Nacho Vegas, who will share songs (unpublished!) And conversation at the port with his most famous heir, Pablo Und Destruktion. In one of its most emblematic concert halls, our two protagonists will talk about rock (and they will play it) with one of the musicians who knows best how to reflect on it, Igor Paskual. And, to finish the play, we will witness the generational change that is taking place in that movement that became known as Xixón Sound. Mar Álvarez (Pauline on the Beach, Undershakers, Petit Pop) will introduce her music school to the youngest and introduce us to her first flagship group, Las Eléctricas. To finish the play, Jorge will take us to his rehearsal room to show the excellent form that his group maintains, Illegales.
"A country to listen to" comes to Barcelona in its fourth stop. On this occasion, there will be two the hosts of Ariel Rot: Santi Balmes and Julián Saldarriaga, voice and guitar of the group Love Of Lesbian. Both will guide you through some of the most emblematic (or unexpected) places in Barcelona. On their route they will meet the new folk of Maria Arnal and Marcel Bagés, the effervescent pop of Guille Milkyway (The Blue House) in the Palau de la Música Catalana or the unclassifiable Albert Pla walking on the wild side in a surprising location. Macaco, totem of mestizo sounds, will perform with special guests at the CCCB. It will also promote a meeting of the indie from Barcelona with Dorian, Elephants and the producers Santos & Fluren and will address the mutations of the Catalan rumba from a circus track with La Pegatina, Maribel La Canija and Nil Moliner.
In his fifth stop, A country to listen to him arrives in Granada, a city with a huge musical tradition in which the singer and composer Anni B Sweet will be the guide for Ariel Rot. There they will meet with veteran indie idols such as Antonio Arias (091, Lagartija Nick) and Eric Jiménez (Los Planetas, Lagartija Nick) and other more recent ones like Lori Meyers. They will approach the new tendencies of the trap with Dellafuente and, in the middle of the Albaicín neighborhood, they will remember the saga of the Morentes from their hands the daughter who has taken with more conviction the heterodox witness of Don Enrique, Soleá Morente. Marina Heredia and Pedro El Granaíno will talk about the heritage of flamenco in the caves of Sacromonte and Vinila Von Bismarck will show that other symbioses of styles are possible. The sixth installment of 'A country to listen to' delves into the sounds of Valencia, land of sea and gunpowder. Carlos Goñi, vocalist of the legendary Revolver band, will act as guide and companion for Ariel Rot, and embark on a trip that does not lack anything. From the good work of bands like The Red Room, to the elegant proposal of Soledad Vélez, framed by the stage of the City of Arts and Sciences.
Thanks to José Manuel Casañ the program will go back to remember mythical formations such as Social Security, and Luis Prado (Lord Mostaza) will discover to Ariel why he is one of the most demanded keyboardists of Spanish rock.
The vibrant and urgent sounds of a young band like La Plata will coexist with the rock lash of Los Zigarros, led by the Ovidi brothers and Álvaro Tormo. And since everything remains in the family, the past and present of the electronics will come together when Chimo Bayo and Tanya Bayo share experiences and talk about "broken dishes" at the Museum of Ceramics in Valencia.
In the seventh chapter of "Un País Para Escuchalo" we taste the fruits that are born from the Murcian garden, where Carlos Tarque will act as a cicerone for Ariel Rot. From the top of the Moneo Building we will investigate the secret of the success of Viva Suecia, without losing sight of the vicissitudes of Diego Cantero, alma mater of Funambulista. The salons of the Casino will discover us that the best rockabilly in the world is from Murcia and it is called Al Dual. He will be accompanied by Miguel & # 39; Huracán' Bañón who, after years at the head of Los Marañones, now drinks the honeys of his solo career. Ariel Rot visits the Basque cities of Bilbao and Vitoria, accompanied by two hosts. In the ninth episode of Un País Para Escuchalo, an exceptional guide will accompany Ariel Rot for the music that shapes the landscape of Galicia: Xoel López. With both we will enter the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, where we will hear Carlos Núñez, undisputed representative of the sounds of an already universal instrument: the bagpipe. In the Pazo de Vilaboa the feminine empowerment of Las Antonias awaits us, while in the Castle of Santa Cruz we will discover with Mercedes Peón one of the most powerful voices of the Galician scene.
Past and future will be merged thanks to the collaboration of Carlangas, vocalist of Novedades Carminha, and Julián Hernández, of Siniestro Total. We could not miss the presence of a musician of trade and vocation, Iván Ferreiro, whom we will enjoy together with the versatile Antón Reixa at the Museo do Mar de Vigo. The realm of noise will come from the riffs of Bizarro Love Triangle, which will display its arsenal on the stage of the legendary Sala Playa Club.
A Country to Listen to closes season traveling in its tenth delivery to Zaragoza, where two illustrious cicerones await you: Amaral. Eva and Juan will receive Ariel Rot to show him how a region rich in talent and history sounds, in which we can check the performance of a band that breaks all the records: Leon Benavente. The exploits of another unforgettable group, Heroes del Silencio, will resound in the Palace of Aljafería thanks to Joaquín Cardiel, bassist of the formation.
On the tables of the majestic Teatro Principal will shine Carmen Paris, heiress and renovator of the jotera tradition, while in the Lata de Bombillas we will hear the roar of two tigers not sad: Los Bengala. About the reign of rap in the land of the north wind they will speak the rhymes of Sho-Hai, former Violadores del Verso, and the voice of Sharif the Incredible. Some Tachenko of height will put, in the Pablo Gargallo Museum, the final touch to a country that is not only to listen to it, but also to see it, feel it and enjoy it.
