Airport is a British documentary television series based at London Heathrow Airport, broadcast by the BBC and syndicated to Dave, part of the UKTV network.

8 episodes

Cameras visit Heathrow airport during the Christmas period to record the events, flared tempers and festive spirit of the staff, and passengers who travel at this time of year.

The festive season gets off the ground at Heathrow as contributors from the last series have the chance to try their hands at somebody else's job for a day.

In a special Christmas edition, Jeremy Spake takes up the auctioneer's hammer to sell off airlines' lost luggage for charity, and animal health officer Stuart King jostles with the press pack when a dog rescued by a soldier in Kosovo arrives at Heathrow to begin a new life in Britain.

The docusoap goes stateside for two programmes. Today, behind-the-scenes action at this busy American airport includes undercover drugs enforcement agents discovering heroin bound for Florida, and a pig's head found in someone's baggage.

In a special episode of the docusoap filmed at Florida's Miami International, cameras follow customs officer Jennifer Connors as she hunts down drug smugglers, while plain-clothes police crack down on airport crime.

While press woman Lauren breaks the news of a rabbit cull, security teams - helped by a dog that can literally smell money -look for large sums of cash, as money leaving the USA may be financing terrorism. Meanwhile, an extraordinary haul of cocaine is found in a toy car.

In an observational view of life beneath the flight paths of Miami, undercover police crack a ring of baggage thieves as the culprits are caught on camera rummaging through the luggage of a British Airways flight. Holiday-makers are forced to surrender souvenirs that are considered a potential health risk while staff are concerned when an elderly woman pleads to be allowed to fly.
