Julia Bechley's world is turned upside-down when her father, renowned fertility specialist Leon Bechley, suffers a heart attack after being publicly accused of using his own sperm to father many of his patients' children. In an attempt at damage control, she announces that anyone who suspects Leon to be their father can take a free DNA test through the clinic. Edie Palmer is a successful lawyer in a failing marriage, and when she discovers that her mother hid the truth of her parentage from her, she tries to find comfort by starting an affair with another woman, Amanda. Roxy Doyle, a washed-up former Olympic athlete, walks away from her unsupportive parents and reaches out to Julia, who initially rejects her before grudgingly allowing her to stay at her apartment. The test results confirm that all three women are biological sisters, and they decide to try and identify other potential siblings. Amanda's office announces that, based on evidence Julia provided out of anger over her father's betrayal, Leon will not be charged with fraud, but with sexual assault.
