I was ready for a SyFy tier story and thus skipping it. Some decent ratings and early reviews led me to believe it might be just mediocre instead of bad.
It's a messy story with bad acting and dialogue to say the least - add to that being boring too. They also decided to go with the biggest BS they got to get people to ?vote? for more episodes of it. What you are going to get at the end of these too long episodes is not going to make you satisfied. "The most important project for mankind" (hahaha) is a waste of time.
I really dont understand why this mini-series was not actually picked up as a pilot to a real series. It really deserved at least another mini-series or shortened season. Great story and great basis for a very interesting plot. I do not agree on the "bad acting" comments at all.

Why did this show end? It was such a good show!! It has so many good twists. All of the twists were completely unexpected. I'll look for a book. I hope there is one. :/
This isn't sci-fi. This is a soap opera in space. Gave up after 20 minutes.

Reading bad acting here sounds like none of these people actually watched the show.
Or don't know Helix, The Strain, Scorpion etc.
One of the better SciFi shows these days, mainly for it being a mini series. There's no time to waste when you only have so much time.
I like to think about this as a form of Truman Show but massively bigger.
Contrary to other people I'd say the acting is decent with well-known B-actors from Saving Hope, Cougar Town (ah, well, the show itself is awful, the actors for the most part capable nontheless) that one guy giving Stroke the pills looked like that one "main" character from the Canadian version of 19-2, who got shot. Not sure about that, though but a likely possibility.
Great intertwined plottwists, it's not clear who works for whom and who you can actually trust.
Hopefully, this gets a full season. But thinking about that most people frown upon the genre SciFi nowadays, having weird expectations I think it won't.
I really enjoyed this. As a Battlestar Galactica fan, I'd say that Tricia Helfer makes the show for me. It also has an interesting story that hasn't really been covered before, I can see lots of room for development beyond the first 6 hours. It's rumored a multi-season renewal is planned if the series is successful. I didn't think the acting was bad, although hillbilly Stokes & the young girl sure do pull some interesting faces... this is a 'pilot' after all, given the chance to find itself I'm sure it could be a lot better than the likes of 'The 100' and 'Under the Dome'.
It won't win any awards, but going into it knowing it's just 3 days long and you're done makes it a nice holiday diversion. Acting is pretty bad, but the story is OK.
More watchable than most of what airs on SyFy, unfortunately that's hardly an achievement ;-)
I'm a fan. Only three episodes in now but definitely looking forward to the next three. Hopefully they don't try and get too crazy with it.
i was looking forward to this! But sadly I definitely could've lived without, was expecting alot more than this mediocre 'same old same old' -time sink. derrrrp

Great miniseries. It’s a pity SyFy didn’t pick up the series. Well worth a watch.
I really enjoyed watching this show, it is a hidden gym. It had that girl from Battlestar Galactica too. I just wish if they made season 2, the plot is amazing and whole in whole the show is enjoyable and good.
Love this show, reminds of the Truman Show! Netflix is getting some good product going.
Ascension is hokey and hyper-staged. But there's a twist at the end of the first night that should have you coming back.
Typical SyFi bureaucracy strangled this potentially great show in its cradle. Meanwhile they keep cranking out the abysmally derivative drek, Z Nation.

When I first read the plot I thought this could be interesting, something new. But it became something else entirely - and in the process unfortunately not so new and interesting.
Wait, could someone please explain me: who were the original crew? Did the original crew consist of famous scientists (physics / genetics / medics, etc.) and their children or did it consist of those famous scientists children (who were recruited into the Kennedy programme by Abraham and who parents were later killed in car / plane crashes)?
If the crew consisted on the scientists only (adult people), whom was Abraham recruiting then?
Also, did the original crew sign up to this willingly or they were somehow forced?

This is a very interesting show. Although the final episode gives us some closure, I wish they would add at least another season to properly complete the story arcs. It feels like the show was cancelled prematurely.
