The series shows in 50 BC (shortly after the Roman conquest) a small Gallic village of Armorica that pursues alone the fight against the invader thanks to a magic potion prepared by the druid, a drink that gives a superhuman strength to whoever drinks it. The main characters are the warrior Asterix and the merchant of menhir Obelix, charged by the village to oppose the plans of the Romans or go to support whoever seeks help against the Roman Republic.
