Are we facing in Britain an imminent tidal wave of crime? Certainly the way we are bombarded with crime stories in the press, on television and radio, we might be forgiven for a sense of unease. The prospect of being overwhelmed by crime clearly is disturbing. But has it fostered our fears unfairly and unnecessarily.
Do we ironically face another different but hidden danger not so much from our lawbreakers but from our law enforcers? Will that prospect drastically change tne lives of each and every one of us? Tonight's documentary follows the police at work in the streets and the public's response to them. we observe the experience of victims and criminals alike, and reveay a view of the War on Crime.
