Boy Meets World 1993

Is it just me and the place I am in life at the moment or does this show have a lot of emotional story lines?

I know some shows have always tried to have one or two story lines that tackle difficult issues but Boy Meets World seems to be full of them.

I vividly remember watching this show as a kid, and really enjoying it. It was never my favorite, but I liked it. Growing up, and giving this entire show a rewatch from start to finish has given me a new appreciation for it. It might genuinely be the best kids show out there. It shares comparisons to Saved by the Bell, but the characters and predicaments are all much more believable, fleshed out, and able to be invested in season over season. It shares so many quality life lessons, and surprisingly holds up incredibly well all these years later. This is one that everyone should see.

Average Season Review: 8.29/10

Recommendation: Must See (For Everyone)

Just started introducing this show to my kids bc I loved it every week growing up. I warned my 12 year old that the pilot was a little clunky and mostly about getting to know the characters, but even so she was instantly hooked and asked to watch the next one. She’s a 6th grader now and I feel like the show is still relatable. A few episodes I rewatched already remind me of things that happened in her class - although not quite so exaggerated as in the show. The only trouble with streaming is that I know these characters will age faster than they did when I watched it growing up and topics may eventually get a bit too old for her - but for now we are into it :)

Average season rating: 8
(also the median and mode, but who's counting?)

Boy Meets World makes some oddball choices along the way (e.g. recasting Topanga's parents three times, for example), and takes off in a few really dumb directions (e.g. Cory the jealous asshole, or Eric as competitor with Wheatley for Best Moron) in the later seasons. But it's still part of my childhood, and there are a lot of good parts to counter those pieces that—now that I'm more practiced at actually watching TV instead of merely viewing it—bug the adult me to no end.

The continuity in this show was shoddy even by sitcom standards and looking back on it, it’s bizarre how vital it was to me that this teenage couple get married and stay together forever but it was absolutely vital and still is. Cory and Topanga (and Shawn) forever!

I love this show. It’s like the film boyhood except it’s a tv show with a good story and good characters. You watch a kid younger than you grow up and get married.

how is this not on Netflix or Hulu?
