A pleasant episode, not too much happens however.
Does UC Sunnydale only hire assholes for professors?
This season is such a whiplash of exceptionally poor episodes sandwiched in between very good and great episodes. Thankfully, this is one of the latter. It feels like a correction of Buffy's character after a number of interspersed filler episodes that seemed to exist solely for damaging and demeaning Buffy's character so that she doesn't get accused of being a Mary Sue. Ironically, it ends up being the corrections that bring her closer to being one. Still, they're much snappier episodes than the others, and very satisfying to watch, as this one was.
I still don't like Glory. Having a loud, histrionic personality does not an interesting character make. Being kind of hot and having nice skin and hair is the only thing that makes her tolerable. What's the evil version of a Mary Sue called?
Dawn keeps getting cuter and cuter now that they've laid off on their hammering of how much she annoys Buffy, and how badly Buffy responds. I don't have much hope that the show will recapture the glory days (sorry), but this was a big upturn.
Note: there was something weird with the cinematography in this one. The first scene suffered soap opera effect, like they shot it with a TV news camera or something. The picture was normal, it's just the framerate that was off.
So many funny lines on this one. Iconic ending.
