My God, is this really happening?
I heard rumors on Buffy and Spike but I thought they were just some delusional hardcore shippers. Hoo boy!

Nothing here should be happening. Riley should have died in a heroic sacrifice fighting Adam, or Mono, I don't care; and Spike is forced into the plot waaay too much. There's no actual epic menace haunting the rafters. This is all filler, with secondary characters that should have been retired or relegated to occasional guest spots so we actually have time to miss them, and it's all to the detriment of the core characters, not least of all, Buffy herself. I don't mean Dawn, since she has plot utility, and her purpose is still being held in reserve until she is developed, and I'm fine with Harmony being a kind of joke antagonist, but she's actually better crypt sitting or playing the jilted, abused girlfriend who's had enough. Buffy is all about toxic and star-crossed relationships, but it shouldn't be about the boring, trashy normie shit you can find by listening in on drama in the break room of your local Applebee's. There's nothing actually all that "bad" here, but this show is capable of great dramatic moments, and fun, light, character driven humor, and this is just banal and overexposed.

Q from Bond, not Star Trek. So awesome.

I liked Riley and I don't think he deserved that. Also, so far not a fan of that possible Buffy/Spike romance.
