The snippet from Wikipedia that Trakt shows on this season's page is on point. "[N]egative commentary about the extended romance between Sam and Diane" succinctly describes most of what I found tiresome about this season. Their relationship feels forced in a very sitcom-y way; it's hard to take the characters seriously as they behave almost cartoonishly toward each other. Literally every other running thread is more entertaining and more believable. Sam + Diane makes even less sense than the out-of-left-field Chakotay + Seven romance we got at the end of Star Trek: Voyager.
