An unusual short film from the mind of Chris McQueer, starring new and established Scottish talent. In this darkly comic tale Sammy, a wellmeaning nice boy eager to please his Dad is enticed by an offer of whelks in a bag from an urchin on the street. Wanting to surprise his dad with a change to his usual Saturday night chippy-treat, Sammy cuts a deal that changes the course of both their lives. Although initially disappointed by the putrid fishy offering concealed within the brown paper bag, the experience of consuming this new and strange meal leads to them bonding with each other as we see the pair enjoying a cracking evening together in front of the telly. Having savoured both the taste of the whelks and the joy of their quality time together, Sammy wakes up that night in a pool of sweat. He can feel his dinner brewing and ready to come back up. His sickness might not kill him, but the ensuing slippery situation could indeed prove lethal.

An unusual short film from the mind of Chris McQueer, starring new and established Scottish talent. Awkward introvert Peter has worked in the same place all of his life. His co-workers know him well enough to understand that Peter has no intention of ever helping them cover a shift. So when Shelley needs the night off to go to a party, she tries her luck ultra-forcefully. Although Peter still declines to help her out, her insistence backs him into a corner that he can only get himself away from by coming up with an even bigger whopper of an excuse than normal. And that excuse is that introverted, no-pals Peter is too busy with his made-up friends going to an even bigger party than the one Shelley will be missing out on. Luckily for Peter this does get him out of covering a shift but unluckily for him Shelley is now expecting to see proof of this mad night out. The result is a real party that’s as “mental” as Peter made out, but for all the wrong reasons.

An unusual short film from the mind of Chris McQueer, starring new and established Scottish talent. Mel boards the night bus home hoping to get her head down and catch up on sleep. Unfortunately for her, the elderly man in front of her has other plans. Rising from his chair to turn around and face in Mel’s direction, the man begins a discussion about Flat Earth Theory. Naturally, Mel is dismissive of the man but as he reveals himself in full possession of the gift of the gab she begins to wonder whether there may be some truth to this man’s conviction of the earth’s real nature, a conviction convincingly claimed to have come from a journey made by the man to the edge of the atlas. What’s more, his story is illustrated by his conjuring of an ancient map said to prove his claim. Mel is enchanted and wants to know more. She has many questions and luckily for Mel every one of them will be answered by the map.
